Seems all of my grandad’s people are passing. It’s like his past is slowly fading away. It’s kinda sad when he sometimes says he’s ready to go.
She was a giant. Beautiful and talented. Suffered horrible tragedy (sad to say first thing I thought of was the rape?.
May she R.I.P.
Pretty Little Baby????
NEVER heard of it. Never HEARD it.

Pretty Little Baby? Give me a break. I do not remember that song ever even being played on the radio. Certainly NOT a signature song of hers.
Ft. Lauderdale was described as a “sleepy little town” before her hit; “Where the Boys Are” drew scads and scads of teens there, making Lauderdale famous for spring break. It’s where I lived back then, so there’s kind of a melancholy connection with her for me. (ironic, given the rape, and what it did to her)...
Connie was a great songstress who had to contend with bad things happening throughout her life.
RIP Connie. Beautiful voice.
They led with THAT song title, when her biggest hit by far was “Who’s Sorry Now”? Whatever. I’m sure a Gen Z’er wrote it.
Her version of “Three Coins in the Fountain” is, in my opinion, more beautiful than Frank Sinatra version. I believe that song won the Oscar for best song in a movie.
Back when songs had choruses and multiple analog instruments.
I didn’t realize she was still alive all this time.
I remember my mother crying every time she heard Connie sing Mama after my grandmother passed.
So sad. She was terrific.
Absolutely long deserved to be in that HOF. As does Neil Sedaka - I only just found out today he isn’t in either! (Tribute to Connie today)
But Newsmax - a headline with a song she WASN’T famous for. Geesh.
