"How Many Shows Did I Miss?... None": Tucker Carlson Defends The Use Of Highly Controversial Nicotine
Times of India ^ | 7/17/2025 | Staff

Tucker Carlson's advocacy for nicotine has ignited a fresh debate, fueled by his promotion of ALP, a new nicotine pouch brand. Carlson claims nicotine enhances mental acuity and relaxation, citing his own daily use since June 2018.

Tucker Carlson recently appeared on The Real Alex Clark YouTube channel and sparked yet another viral debate, not over politics, but over nicotine.

The former Fox News host, launched into an impassioned defense of the controversial compound while promoting ALP, his new nicotine pouch brand. During the sit-down with Alex Clark, he called nicotine “the only compound ever analyzed by scientists that simultaneously increases mental acuity and relaxation.”

-snip-

And now, he wants the rest of the world to stop demonizing it.

Carlson’s new brand, ALP, isn’t shy about what it stands for. It was launched in late 2024 in partnership with Turning Point Brands, specifically targeting adults who “unapologetically love nicotine.” Available in various flavors and three strengths (3 mg, 6 mg, and 9 mg), ALP is marketed as a more honest, more masculine alternative to other brands.

And Tucker’s trying to say that nicotine pouches are more masculine than good old fashioned smokes. Yeah, right.

Widely Accepted Order of Addictiveness
Below is a commonly cited hierarchy, reflecting both medical and research consensus:

Heroin and Synthetic Opioids (e.g., Fentanyl)

Extremely high addiction potential

Severe withdrawal symptoms

Rapid onset of dependence

Cocaine (including Crack Cocaine)

Powerful stimulant

Quick path to dependency

Intense cravings and psychological withdrawal

Nicotine (Tobacco)

Common and legal, but highly addictive

Difficult withdrawal; widespread use globally

Barbiturates and Benzodiazepines

Prescription sedatives

High potential for dependence and life-threatening withdrawal

Alcohol

Readily available

Associated with both physical and psychological addiction

Can cause life-threatening withdrawal symptoms

Methamphetamine

Strong stimulant

Persistent cravings and severe psychological impact

Other Opioids (e.g., Methadone, Prescription Painkillers)

Addictive, especially with misuse or long-term use

Other Notable Addictive Substances
Amphetamines: Used medically but can be highly addictive when abused.

Cannabis: Generally lower potential for severe dependency, but dependence is possible.

Prescription stimulants (e.g., Adderall, Ritalin): Addictive with prolonged misuse.

Its supposedly good for staving off Parkinson, helping with cognitive issues like alzheimer’s and dementia, and helps conditions like colitis and bowel problems, as well as helps,in fatigue conditions and other health benefits.

I haven’t really looked into it, so don’t know if it’s bad, some articles say it’s not, but other s suggest it “can be” (likely if abused, but I’ll have to research it more to know for sure). We’re talking straight nicotine, no tobacco- there are products like patches, gums and pouches that are tobacco free that have nicotine (which can cause gum irritation if too much is used in same spot, but not cancer from what I read so far, though repeated injury to tissue can lead to cancers)

I’m 11 years cigg free, adn STILL get dreams that i start smoking again. Wake up in a sweat- but my breathing issues are enough to keep me from taking the habit up again so far. (And the $$ issue helps me keep off them too)

It is so good that it helped wipe out most of my family from cancer. Not when on the younger side, like Tucker, but when they got past 60 years old. I was a 3 pack a day person until reality caught up with me and my family.

Anyone that has basically OD on nicotine by heavily smoking in a short period of time is fully aware of that, along with other side effects the vertigo is far from relaxing. Personally I don’t care what people do to themselves…in their own homes and that includes drugs, until it affects others with those pesky things like DUI, or dying/overdosing on the streets. Or the myriad of other criminal activities addicts commit.

It appears that Tucker Pander Bear only gives a shit about making money, not in itself bad, but Tucker is all over the board and bat shit crazy at times.

I assume they are just an advertiser so Tucker has to promote the product but walking around with a pouch under your lip is significantly less cool than just smoking

And the hypertension thing.

I wish I could get some alert relaxation in a patch or gum with no downsides.

Rather be hooked on nicotine pouches than alcohol, weed, sugar,or carbohydrates

If sugar didn't taste so good, it would be illegal. What the death merchants have turned nicotine into should be illegal.

Yeh, get everyone addicted to nicotine.🙄. The only thing I was ever addicted to was cigarettes. Quitting was horrible.

Sometimes I don’t think Tucker is as smart as he thinks he is.

Couldn’t do that with Tucker’s nicotine pouches.

Also, the singer is great.

She was sexy as hell, even in her old age, even as an old woman you could feel her power to cloud men’s minds when she talked to you, and she could really play a room at small parties.

It’s not the nicotine that is addicting, or, dangerous (within limits, of course, as with all else) .... it’s the additives they (BigTobacco) added in the 60s to make cigarettes addicting.

Natural nicotine has several benefits.

Dr Bryan Ardis has discussed this, at length, over the years.

Nicotine is fatal to humans even in small doses. In humans, the median lethal dose is 0.5 to 1.0 mg/kg or around 40 to 60 mg in an average human
