Five years ago, COVID was all we could think about. Today, we’d rather forget about lockdowns, testing queues and social distancing. But the virus that sparked the pandemic, SARS-CoV-2, is still circulating.
Most people who get COVID today will experience only a mild illness. But some people are still at risk of severe illness[1] and are more likely to be hospitalised with COVID. This includes older people, those who are immunocompromised by conditions such as cancer, and people with other health conditions such as diabetes.
Outcomes also tend to be more severe in those who experience social inequities such as homelessness. In the United Kingdom[2], people living in the 20% most deprived areas have double chance of being hospitalised from infectious diseases than those in the least deprived areas.

I never catch the flu and never caught Covid, same with my entire immediate family.
Funny you should mention this. I just this day heard some crap about some kind of Covid protection, especially for older folks. Thanks for letting me know because I’m one of those older folks & I’ll avoid that stuff for sure. Probably be better at my age just letting nature ...rather than drugs...take it’s course.
Reminds me of the group The WHO & “Won’t Get Fooled Again”
I think i mighta had it a few weeks ago- bad sore throat- and exhaustion- slept many hours- which is unusual - I don’t know for sure- but it wasn’t very pleasant whatever it was=-
Coronaviruses have been around for an estimated 88 million years...so uhm...its news that they did not go away this year???
It sounds cruel, but the only real way to get through outbreaks of plague is to let it rage through the population, and treat the symptoms.
The first clue was the fact that it was so mild you couldn’t differentiate it from a cold. Frightening (not).
But what sealed the deal for me was that it was only Democrats who wanted to lock everything down and enforce all sorts of mandates.
There was a weird period about a month in where every Democrat I knew had all these stories of hospitals being so overrun with corpses they had to get refrigerator trucks and turn their parking lots into morgues. And every Democrat had a sister or brother in law that died of it..
The Democrats wanted a pandemic to blame on Trump SO bad!
I completely lost respect for 90% of the people that year.
I love cruises coz they give me a nice break from chores. But all depends on which cruise ship you choose. The ship makes a big difference. I have done multiple cruises on Royal Caribbean line. Some were tops, a few were duds.
I was in a large supermarket today and quite honestly I don’t think I saw anyone wearing one.
We’re going on our 4th cruise in October, Harmony of the Seas from Galveston. We upgraded to a junior suite with our casino points. Can’t wait!
Hope you continue to enjoy them.
Lovely ship! Have a wonderful time! 👍👍
So long as I can walk 5 miles during the cruise, I will continue 👍
