Trump says US will send Patriot missiles to Ukraine, EU will pay for them

US President Donald Trump says he will send Patriot air defense missiles to Ukraine, saying they are necessary to defend the country because Russian President Vladimir Putin “talks nice but then he bombs everybody in the evening.”

-snip-

“We will send them Patriots, which they desperately need, because Putin really surprised a lot of people. He talks nice and then bombs everybody in the evening. But there’s a little bit of a problem there. I don’t like it,” Trump tells reporters at Joint Base Andrews outside of Washington.

“We basically are going to send them various pieces of very sophisticated military equipment. They are going to pay us 100% for that, and that’s the way we want it,” Trump says.

He plans to meet NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte to discuss Ukraine and other issues this week.

accept realistic proposals from Putin.

They include installing a government of Russia’s choice, the de-nazification of Ukraine (essentially amounting to Holodomor v2 with the execution of millions), & the creation of buffer zones to include all of the Baltics and Poland.

Very realistic, eh?

LOL, so you use AI. That’s fine, but you’ve already PROVEN that you know NOTHING about the state of Russia today.

And those missiles will last less than a month. The U.S. manufacturing capacity of Patriot missiles is only 500 a year.

You’ve proven you don’t care about the truth or having a meaningful or informative debate. You even project your own incompetence and lack of study on me with the AI comment.

You’re just a sad, pathetic loser.

So you are leaking your inside knowledge of US weapons stocks? You could be charged with espionage ...

This isn’t really about the Patriots.

Of course. That point can’t be over emphasized.

Even though the weapons are obsolete by American standards they are still superior to anything the Russians can put forward.

Ukraine produces one million drones as of this year, and they have drones with machine guns or shoguns to shoot down other drones as well as a working jet powered drone.

When it comes to drones in the air or at sea Ukraine is the world leader in new drone tech. Many people on this forum either forgot or never knew that Ukraine produced most of the USSR’s weapons and ICBM fuels

So the Neocons had us even MORE UNPREPARED for this type of war than I even knew of.

As they are scheduled for retirement/dismantling, new versions are built. Its not a zero sum game as you seem to imagine.

Did you get that classified info from your DOD contacts?

Will Ukraine pay us in advance for the weaponry or will we just send them a bill?

“As they are scheduled for retirement/dismantling, new versions are built.”

Is that why we had to send our defense companies into NURSING HOMES to try to find people who know how to build Stingers?

“Its not a zero sum game as you seem to imagine.”
Actually, it’s now negative, given that we’ve sent China into Russia’s arms. But alas! In another decade or so, with the right EPA approvals and financing, and LABOR UNION approval, we just might get a rare earth mine opened in the US.

Let me guess, you learned history from “The People’s History of the United States”, because every other history book discusses the many wars and conflicts between the two countries.

I think the current position of the Zelensky government is that the Russians need to withdraw from Ukraine, return Crimea to Ukraine, pay war reparations to rebuild Ukraine via liquidated Russian assets in the West and accept that Ukraine enters into NATO and maintains NATO troops in Ukraine.

Zelensky and his Western backers are openly mocking the peace process with promises that regardless of whatever deal President Trump negotiates, as soon as as Trump is out of office they will consider the deal null and void and subject to re negotiation on their terms

Not sure that is serious jumping off point for any negotiation given the circumstances on the ground.
