The body of a man who went missing in Lake Arcadia was recovered on Sunday.
The Edmond Police Department said a man and a woman were on a boat in the lake near Central State Park on Saturday. The man, unable to swim, jumped into the water to cool off, but the boat began to drift away.
The woman did not know how to operate the boat, according to police.
Edmond fire and police officials deployed search boats on Saturday to locate the man. After several hours, the search transitioned to a recovery operation, which was called off overnight.

Thank you very much and God bless you.
I think I see the problem.
I’ll not weigh in on this one.
I would venture to say future reports will include the fact that one or both had been drinking.
You know, since my mother died and I’ve shed so many tears the world sometimes seems such a sad sad place.
Foolish or not, there’s tears to be shed.
I’m sorry for him and his loved ones.
I think I see the problem as well...
“The man, unable to swim, jumped into the water to cool off”
It’s like saying a man, incapable of withstanding the explosion of a ton of TNT, sat atop it and lit the fuse just to warm himself up...
Wear your life jackets folks.
Any neutral witnesses to back up that story?
Now imagine if the roles were reversed. People would be crucifying the guy for not being able to “work the boat”. And also crucifying him because, “how could he let her jump in not knowing how to swim?”
But no, this way we just get snark comments about the guy, nothing about the inept woman.
From what I read into it, the “to cool off” may mean he was having a big argument with the chick that was getting too heated.
I guess he showed her.
That clip made me laugh so hard at the end.
And everyone should know how to swim. All my kids were in competitive swimming by 1st grade. None of them were stand outs, but they are all strong swimmers and have basic lifeguard skills.
My mom’s husband had a 35-foot sailboat. A boat that size takes lots of skill. She was up at the bow changing the sail and her shoe fell overboard. He reached for it and fell in. She really didn’t have the skills to quickly slow the boat and turn around. Fortunately, they were not far from shore and someone saw it and rescued her husband and returned him to the boat.
He rescued the shoe but lost a very expensive pair of sunglasses in 300 feet of water.
Yes
✝️✝️🙏🙏🛐🛐
The man, unable to fly, jumped off the cliff.
Ain’t buying that.......
I wonder if the police have noticed that this looks a lot like a Murder?
If the decedent’s life insurance policy could be determined then a better formulation could be made regarding this story. $$$$ Perhaps also a copy of any receipts from the liquor store prior to the outing would help.
It's the natural order. You don't see John Wayne flailing around screaming to be rescued by Vera Miles - although Maureen O' Hara maybe could. She was full of piss 'n' vinegar.
