Russian President Vladimir Putin said Friday that the country was dismissed regarding its concern about NATO expansion.
"We emphasized that the security of one nation or a group of nations cannot come at the expense of another's security. This principle is enshrined in international agreements that all parties have ratified," Putin said.
"Yet, in practice, what transpired?" Putin continued. "One NATO expansion after another. We were consistently reassured, 'there's nothing to fear; it doesn't pose a threat to you.' When we expressed our concerns, asserting that we believed it did threaten us, what was the response? Nothing at all. We were simply told, in no uncertain terms, where to go with our opinions. No one bothered to listen or consider our perspective."
Putin said Russia will determine where threats come from.
"We know better what threatens us and what does not. It is our right to determine the degree of our security and the level of threats that may approach us from one side or the other," Putin said.

Thank you very much and God bless you.
No NATO for the Greasy Green Goblin 😃
F O Putin.
NATO strong.
Ukraine in 1994 handed over its nukes to Russia, who promised to respect Ukraine's territorial integrity and inviolability of its borders. In 1999 Ukraine handed over to Russia TU-160 and TU-95 bombers and KH55 cruise missiles.
Result? Neutral Ukraine in 2014 had Crimea seized and a separatist war started.
In 2022 Russia invaded Ukraine using those returned cruise missiles and bombers to attack civilians.
That’s right. That was an agreement that NATO has consistently broken with deep state and globalist assists.
Embarrassing.
If this is about NATO expansion, Mr. Putin, why did you reject Zelensky’s offer of no NATO for Russian withdrawal? Why do you, even now, demand more from Ukraine?
Putin is going the way of the elevator operators. You won’t even notice when he is gone because he already illrelevent. You’d think with all this time he would have gotten better as a leader but no he leading his whole cowardly rule follower Russian lemmings straight off a cliff.
“We emphasized that the security of one nation or a group of nations cannot come at the expense of another’s security”
Nothing about NATO is a threat to Russia unless Russia wants to have an offensive posture towards NATO nations, and then and only then are NATO nations obliged to defend against active offensive measures towards them and or their allies.
NATO expansion:

Zelensky talking about NATO:
“I requested them personally to say directly that we are going to accept you into NATO in a year or two or five, just say it directly and clearly, or just say no. And the response was very clear, you’re not going to be a NATO member, but publicly, the doors will remain open.”
Imo this is a war the deep state wanted.

“For as long as it takes”!!
How ready you are to throw in with the globalists.
People would like to isolate NATO expansion as the only element to this, but the Reality is that NATO expansion took place even as the entire West was stiff-arming the Russian Federation after the Cold War.
Had the RF been, instead, escorted in to full trade normalization, and equitable participation in international policy affairs West of Moscow, and treated as an up-and-coming peer in the advancement of the peace and prosperity of Western Civilization NATO could’ve expanded right to their borders and they wouldn’t have batted an eyelash.
Look, you have an entire Soviet architecture that overcame the mass of it’s own Deep State (large chunks of which persist to this very day) to throw down 70 years of suffocating communism, and were they praised? Were they welcomed to the West?
Oh, HELL no!
Saith the accursed NeoCons: no former Soviet will EVER NOT be a Soviet; nor will they EVER be treated as anything BUT Soviets.
More, even, than NATO expansion, it is that damnable NeoCon notion, and it’s infernal philosophical children, propelled forward by our own diabolical cabal of Deep State actors, that has fueled every last iota of international friction with the Russian Federation since 1990. And it DAMN near sent them back into the arms of Stalin’s Ghost; the Russian Federation struggled so mightily economically that many felt they’d made a mistake, and wanted to go back to communism. Never a majority, by the grace of God, alone, but enough to make the threat credible.
WE HAD A GOLDEN WINDOW OF OPPORTUNITY, from about 1989 to MAYBE as late as 1999, to affirmatively establish a constructive West/East peace partnership, actively aid in pulling Russia out of the rubble of the collapsed CCCP, and become fast partners in prosperity; bringing our combined influence in our respective global hemispheres to bear on an entire globe that could’ve well used the leadership of a more unified pair of superpowers.
COULD’VE
DIDN’T
So today we choke down the rotten fruit of our failure, as our own Deep State muppets, yes-men, and hangers-on comfort themselves on the thin gruel of taking cheap shots at Putin.
Ukraine in 1994 handed over Russia's nukes to Russia.
