Putin’s been on a losing streak: Hezbollah, Assad, and now Iran.

Putin’s Russia is becoming more Christian... mullahs are not worth backing anymore.

Russia is pretty stretched. A better question is why isn’t China.

because they have their hands full in Ukraine. Which makes this the PERFECT time to take out Iran once and for all.

NO DEALS!

unless the deal is... the ayatollah flees the country!

I suspect Trump and Putin reached a secret deal. Putin must publicly support Iran, so he can’t come out and just say he’s thrown them under the bus.

IMHO, the number one Middle Eastern friend for Russia is Turkey. A pipeline through Turkey could supply natural gas to Europe from Israel, etc. As long as Turkey doesn't allow that, Russia has huge control over Europe. I believe all of the talk between Russia and Iran is smoke and mirrors so people don't pay attention to the real linchpin of Russian control over Europe, which is Turkey.

It always comes down to energy.

the russkies are up to their asses in alligators in ukraine, have used up massive reserves of war equipment and personnel in ukraine, have zero ability to project power much further than ukraine, and the last thing they want is to lose the rest of their air force trying to supply iran with a meager amount of munitions; plus the russkies have now lost their main source of drones and missiles, namely the ones they’ve been buying from the iranians ... guess the russkies will have to fall back on buying weapons from the norks again ...

Doesn’t look like any Middle Eastern country is backing them. Abraham Accords are working.

Russia and Iran had a relationship of convenience, which are never permanent relationships ever.

Israel demolished the drone factory, so no more Iranian drones for Putrid Putin. Result, he kicked the Ayatollahs to the curb. Putrid did not lift a finger to help Iran as Israel was bombing it w impunity.

Perhaps in his heart, Putin favors the Jews over the Muslims.
