It appears Jimmy wanted his wife to basically get everything but put a blocker to stop her for blowing it all. But the blocker seems to be taking full advantage of their position.
This guy sounds like a SWINDLER!
He’s a lawyer so, par for the course.
I’ll side with her on this one.................
I thought he was worth more than that. Still a nice sized estate for a guy who had one top 10 song.
Acting in her own interest? You betcha!
I wouldn’t put an extra person to manage a trust unless my beneficiary was in some way disabled & unable to handle it.
Jimmy was a huge Democrat. It figures that he would create this monster after he was gone.
Apparently, Jimmy wanted to make sure Jane didn’t marry a swindler who wipe out everything so the kids would have something.
Do you know any ‘parrot heads’? I’ve known a couple and they’re like ‘dead head’ grateful dead fans. A little wacky. ๐๐
The nerve of her acting in her own interest!
Someone needs to open a buffet in Key West and call it “Jimmy’s Buffet”. How fast would the Buffett estate sue them?

I know right. Heโs lived off two shitty songs his whole life. Cheeseburger in Paradise. Yuk. And Margaritaville. Yuk. Then of course that spawned his restaurant business. Total lib dork but hey. He got his piece of the pie here.
I once escorted Jimmy Buffett out of a venue in Washington and he asked me to carry his cased guitar. We chatted for a couple of minutes while we walked. That was pretty cool.
I probably saw him in concert 10x. Met him in Hong Kong. He yelled at me for interrupting his dinner. Lol. Does that make me a parrot head? Loved his shows.
“”In every big transaction,” said Leech, “there is a magic moment during which a man has surrendered a treasure, and during which the man who is due to receive it has not yet done so. An alert lawyer will make that moment his own, possessing the treasure for a magic microsecond, taking a little of it, passing it on. If the man who is to receive the treasure is unused to wealth, has an inferiority complex and shapeless feelings of guilt, as most people do, the lawyer can often take as much as half the bundle, and still receive the recipient’s blubbering thanks.””

He did a pretty low key concert in Hong Kong. He wanted to sell his tequila at it. Then he was informed he couldn’t sell his tequila without a liquor license, and the venue he played didn’t have one. So he said fine just serve it for free. There was like a couple of hundred of us watching him and getting hammered on his tequila.
I agree...the lawyer sounds like a sleaze.
He sold 20 million albums, was one of the top touring acts from almost 40 years, sold a lot of merchandising and was a shrewd investor. He sold the carefree beach image but was by all accounts a workaholic.
LOL! Maybe. Saw him in new orleans many years ago. Good show. We even do Margaritaville and Tampico Trauma at our gigs.
Buffett did all the right things - except in understanding people, and their relationships.
And that’s always the hardest part
