Former ABC News veteran correspondent Terry Moran has launched his independent journalism career.
The 65-year-old journalist resurfaced his Substack account and vowed he would get back to the “important work,” he said Wednesday, a day after he was booted from the Disney-owned network.
Moran was dismissed Tuesday for violating the company’s policies with a viral social media attack against top White House official Stephen Miller.
“For almost 28 years, I was a reporter and anchor for ABC News, as you may have heard, I am not there anymore. I’m here with you, on Substack,” Moran said in a video posted to the site.
“This amazing space and I can’t wait to get at it. Get into the important work that we all have to do in this time of such trouble for our country.”
Moran revealed he would be publishing his own reporting and interviews on his site.
He teased it would take some time to get the account up and running because “he had to get some stuff sorted out.”
Moran shared the announcement on his X account, the same platform he used to fire off his post against White House Deputy Chief of Staff Miller days earlier.
His now-deleted post targeted Miller, calling the Trump administrator “one of the people who conceptualizes the impulses of the Trumpist movement and translates them into policy,” and operates not on “brains” but on “bile.”

Propagandists are good at telling people what the CIA wants to be heard. When you take a propagandist and put them on Youtube or Substack they speak to no one. Because no one wanted to hear them in the first place. ABC is a channel in a old folks home that the staff just puts on. Or maybe the favorite show is on ABC and the news just follows. But nobody wanted to hear his propaganda. He looks like a nice honest man who would never lie. He acts serious. But he is in actuality a scum sucking propagandist who reads the daily CIA fax and repeats it on ABC every night as though it were news.
