Stacy Keach was a hoot in that movie.
Where are all the in depth stories of the poor innocents who have been deported?
yeah....he was and the dumb cops. funny movie.
I thought Born in East LA to be very funny.
LOL... I’ve heard of this many times in Arizona. They used immigration for a free ride home.
Took my ex to that movie on our first date. Should have known it would not last when she didn’t laugh at the movie.
An underrated classic, full of some classic gags.
Vespa, you get +2 from me for this post.
Timely, hilarious.
Cheech Marin, Tommy Chong and Stacy Keach.
Used to listen to Cheech & Chong on the 8 track in a big ol’ Dodge police auction car. Couldn’t open the back doors from the inside.
Born in East L.A. was good too.
Listened to Big Bambu on my record player.
Came with a giant rolling paper, lp sized.
Took it to the Florida Junior College Student Government Association convention back in the late 70’s. It was held at the Fountainbleu Hotel in Miami. The hallways were filled with smoke and smell. The house detective was walking down the halls yelling “keep it in the rooms”. Crazy hippy days. But a great time when girls were girls and they appreciated guys who were guys. Bell bottoms and halter tops on the girls. You met talked and became friends. No war on men yet.
Used to listen to Cheech & Chong on the 8 track
Yup...had their bits memorized...
Dave’s not here man.
Who?
Thanks......yeah, funny movie. Couple of potheads in East L.A. on a mission to score some maui wowie..........thanks.
I actually partied with Cheech and Chong in Rochester, NY around 1979. A place I was bouncing at had them and we invited them to a after hours party at someone’s house - Cheech was down to earth and shot the breeze over a few drinks - Chong was just like you see him - he disappeared upstairs where the weed was burning and we never set eyes on him again that night.
Also got to play pool with Harry Chapin - heard “Taxi” on our stage before it hit the vinyl - and John Prine did a gig there.
Wow.....neat stories. I guess Chong is a real pot head. I liked that song by Chapin too. I remember hearing it one late night in the 70s. Never forgot that for some reason. A very pretty part in the song is the solo chorus or whatever by someone.....a high voice. Thanks.
Cheech meets with “Curtis”, who dresses like Superfly, when he uses the windshield of Cheech’s ride to demonstrate that the diamond he’s fencing is real. It leaves a huge scratch on the glass and then Cheech freaks out...https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CJvgRFLunOo
Anyone remember the term blue light babies?
Some of the musicians who played on “Basketball Jones” include...
George Harrison
Carol King
Jim Keltner
Michelle Phillips
