Mark Zuckerberg Handpicks Experts for Meta ‘Superintelligence’ AI Team
Breitbart ^ | June 10, 2025 | Staff

Mark Zuckerberg is personally assembling a team of experts to achieve artificial general intelligence (AGI) in a move to accelerate Meta’s AI development.

Bloomberg reports that Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg is taking a hands-on approach to accelerate the company’s AI development by personally recruiting a team of experts to achieve artificial general intelligence (AGI). The secretive new team, referred to internally as the “superintelligence group,” is part of Zuckerberg’s audacious goal to outstrip other tech giants in the race to develop machines capable of performing as well as humans at many tasks.

According to people familiar with the matter, Zuckerberg aims to hire around 50 people for the new team, including a new head of AI research. The CEO has been actively involved in the recruitment process, meeting with potential candidates at his homes in Lake Tahoe and Palo Alto. To facilitate collaboration, Zuckerberg has rearranged desks at Meta’s Menlo Park headquarters so that the new staff will sit near him.

The formation of the superintelligence group comes in tandem with Meta’s planned multi-billion dollar investment in Scale AI, a startup that offers data services to help companies train their AI models. Scale AI founder Alexandr Wang is expected to join the superintelligence group once the deal is finalized. This investment is set to become Meta’s largest external investment to date, underscoring the company’s commitment to advancing its AI capabilities.

Zuckerberg’s increased involvement in AI development is reportedly driven, in part, by his frustration over the quality and response to Llama 4, the latest version of Meta’s large language model designed to power chatbots and other services. Despite the company’s efforts to deliver the best AI offering by the end of the year, the latest release in April fell short of expectations, leading to disappointment both internally and externally.

There is no such thing as "AI" other than the next generational builds of computers and their operating systems.

In the 70's, "ELIZA" was creepy artificial intelligence. Today it's just 500 megabites of nothing.

He needs Marvin the paranoid Android for this task.
He’s got a Brian the size of the solar system, ya know…

That’s why any attempt to establish rules and boundaries on AI development is pointless, when so much power and fortunes are on the line to the country, company or individuals that gains the advantage in AI, others will cut corners, break all the rules and do that they have to do in order to get back in the race.

Yes, this is likely to turn into a real horror movie.

Brain not Brian.

The AI’s first task should be to go out and REMOVE auto-correct from every
computer or other device, galaxy-wide, who’s owner requests it!

The whole “computer whiz kids” is so 1990’s. If you know how a database works and how to produce a website does not make you “super intelligent”. Any kid in a South Asian slum can do this stuff.

My weather app already performs as well as weather man humans - they both get it wrong.

Scale AI founder Alexandr Wang is expected to join the superintelligence group

Wang is not a genius. He is essentially a sweatshop owner. He pays hundreds of thousands of Third World people $2-4 per day to "index" real world objects for LLMs.

That movie was already made, and is seemingly our inevitable fate:

Know what? You point to something important. The last six months or so Spell Check has gotten even worse since they started using AI... Much worse, terrible in fact. I am being forced to learn how to spell on my own again...

If Zuckerberg didn’t actually invent face book, and he didn’t, then who is really doing this?

Whoever makes an AI bot that can sort through my tax receipts and file wins my business.

Although i am using “AI” for design projects. There are some great advances for “adaptive design” that are really slick, tough to manufacture, but slick. I want to use it for compliant mechanisms.

Yeah.
I just had the dang thing replace ‘every’ with ‘envy’.
I mean - what the F?
Auto-correct seems to be striving to prove it’s utter uselessness.
It is butting in and replacing my misspelled words incorrectly
about 50 times for every one that it fixes correctly.
THAT is what I call worse than useless.

bring it back to earth and I was thinking about something like Nuclear Fusion, for years the reports are, we are just a few years away from solving the technical issues with Nuclear Fusion which will open unlimited clean energy for everyone, nothing has happened to indicate we are any closer to that reality.

Suppose you could train an AI model with AGI and test new theories in AI in minutes compared to years of trial and error and you could actually solve the issues of Nuclear Fusion with the help of AI.
