The scales of justice came for Pepe.
Cops detained – and rescued – a monster 10-foot alligator they nicknamed Pepe the Gator sunbathing on a busy road in North Carolina and “charged” him on suspicion of being a “dinosaur.”
“Witnesses say he was just chilling and snapping, clearly ignoring the ‘no loitering or lounging on roadways’ sign,” the Onslow County Sheriff’s Office wrote in a playful press release last week. “Pepe has been cited for Suspicion of Being a Dinosaur Without Proper Papers, Public Loitering with Intent to Sunbathe, and Obstructing Traffic.”
“He was 10 feet long, 400 pounds. He was an absolute monster,” Trevor Dunnell, spokesman for the Onslow County Sheriff’s Office told the Post Thursday.

NC gator ping
We came upon a gator at our local Veteran’s park Wednesday. He was probably 5-6 feet. Called the FWC hotline to report ‘Nuisance’ gators.............
To report a nuisance alligator in Florida, you should contact the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) Nuisance Alligator Hotline at 866-FWC-GATOR (866-392-4286).
I tell people I saw an alligator on Camp LeJeune when I was stationed there. Many don’t believe me. I know an alligator when I see one...................
Was he a Marine from Camp Lejune?
He’s a handsome fellow. Love gators!
GO GATORS!
Will he be deported?
I dunno what would be so hard to believe.....plenty of marsh and swamp land in NC for habitat.
Oh yeah, bigshots! Let’s see you put handcuffs on him.
Mainly people think it’s too cold for gators to live there...................
Range of the North American Alligator................
I’d put a bag over the head of that alligator too if I was that cop.
With occasional forays north if the Mason-Dixon Line.
I have lived in Eastern NC all my life. New Bern/Jacksonville/Wilmington. Now Morehead. There a many gators here all the way up to VA line. Huge ones. Why people don’t think they are here is beyond me.
You see gators....I see boots...
Don’t need no Yankee Gators!.....................
I’d hand the bag to my partner and say “Go...I’ll cover you”.
Wow.
George Washington, while surveying in southern Virginia, reported spotting a gator. They were a bit further norther than they are now.
