Generally speaking, thieves steal for some sort of monetary or property gain while leaving everything else in tact.
Vandals destroy property out of sheer meanness. I never understood destroying someone’s property thinking it’s fun.
This lighthouse for example, thieves would break in, take a few objects and leave. The vandals destroyed the whole thing. They are both criminals, but the most disgusting ones are the hate filled vandals. And I’ve learned hate filled people are most likely democrats.
