A Massachusetts state senator has introduced a bill that would create a government commission tasked with coming up with ways to reduce the number of miles that residents drive in their personal vehicles to bring the Commonwealth into compliance with the Net Zero carbon mandate, a draconian scheme that advocates insist is necessary to stave off the coming global warming apocalypse.
82-year-old Senate Majority Leader Cynthia Creem who chairs the Massachusetts Senate Committee on Climate Change & Global Warming has filed Bill S.2246, titled “An Act Aligning The Commonwealth’s Transportation Plans With Its Mandates and Goals For Reducing Emissions and Vehicle Miles Traveled” that would require the state MassDOT to “set goals for reducing the number of statewide driving miles.”
The legislation establishes “an interagency coordinating council” that would be responsible for setting fines and penalties to enforce compliance with drivers who will be forced into using public transportation or riding bicycles to limit the impact of greenhouse gas emissions on the environment. Creem’s legislation is modeled after laws and regulations in Colorado and Minnesota, two states that are under the control of far-left Democrats who worship at the altar of the climate cult.
According to a summary, “the bill would establish an interagency coordinating council—similar to the existing coordinating council for EV charging infrastructure—to come up with a whole-of-government plan to reduce vehicle miles traveled and increase access to transportation options other than personal vehicles. The legislation would ensure that Massachusetts stays on track to reduce emissions from transportation, the sector that accounts for the greatest share of emissions in the Commonwealth.”

I prefers that the natives of that state stay where they are. They voted for their mess and appear to be okay with their living situations.
To qualify, I worked in the eastern half of Massachusetts in 1998-99 and studied the natives while I was there.
They have their own ebonics language, driving style, work ethics, food and living life style. None of these qualities(?) are compatible with Texas except to corrupt a new to them state.
They were okay with illegal aliens saturating their state as exampled by their Portuguese problem over the decades though there may be a current conflict with southern Hispanics changing their Portuguese influence/culture.
The natives may celebrate their Revolutionary War history but it means nothing except as a bystander view.
The pre-requisite for being a resident of Massachusetts is that you have to be a prick.
