TYLER, Texas — A woman was arrested this week for allegedly stealing the wig off the body of a dead woman at an East Texas funeral home.
Tonya Annette Boyd, 55, was booked into the Smith County Jail on a theft of property from a human corpse or grave in connection with an incident at a Tyler funeral home that was reported on May 23.
The funeral director told police that on May 22, Boyd came into the preparation room and removed a wig from the head of a deceased woman. The director said Boyd had been told to leave earlier that day. Another employee said they saw Boyd with the wig later that day, an arrest affidavit said.
On May 23, the director noticed the deceased woman was missing the wig that was meant to be on her head for the funeral, the document read. All employees reportedly knew what Boyd looks like because of several contacts with her over the years.
The officer wrote in that affidavit that Boyd is known to be a transient who uses multiple drugs. She has been involved in several criminal acts around the funeral home, including theft.
She remains in the Smith County Jail on a $75,000 bond. She was also booked in on prior public intoxication charges, records show.
They should have let her kept it. She needs it more than the deceased.
Ok, I get it now.
I was going to post “not guilty” for that reason but fear other FReepers would get the wrong idea. 🤮
Is that a pic of the perp or the deceased?
Yet, without the wig, the deceased still looked better than the defendant.
Lol!
That is the property of the funeral directors, like wedding rings are.
I just finished eating, then I read this.
Bobo?
This story wigs me out.
Oh my!
What was she doing in such close proximity to the deceased in the first place? Viewing Hours were long over. Undertakers don’t usually allow mon family, non employees to “just hang out” in the embalming rooms.
,”What? I shouldn’t oughta done that? Ah don’t see no Sign telling me don’t do it!”
Bill O’Reilly in one of his final Fox News shows said he could tell Maxine Waters’ hair shows the James Brown estate lawsuits had finally been settled.
Two women on the panel cringed and told him not to make fun of Waters’ hair.
If the deceased woman is not black, will the feds step in since it would become a hate crime?
A bag would help more than a wig.
