33 years ago today, Edward Travens, 15, was murdered while trying to rent a video with his older brother in LA as the race riots were breaking out.
A Black male yelled, "where you from?" and shot Travens five times as he exited the vehicle.
UNSOLVED

Did he at least wait for Travens to answer the question??
Was it meant to be a rhetorical question with no expected answer?
I was at ground zero of the Rodney King riot when it broke out and it was horrible.
It was a landmark event in LA and California's descent into the dystopia that it has become.
There are a lot of dirtbags who should have been brought to justice
Why? Why is a post from NationalConservative capitalizing the word black?
I say this as my spell checker was gonna do the same, but I caught the error.
Vengeance is mine, says the Lord. I will repay.
I had to drive my family out of the city that night to go to a wedding in New Mexico. The freeway was empty as I’d never seen it before, and the glow from the fires in LA lit the tops of the Santa Monica mountains. Apocalyptic.
Try writing an email or post on almost anyplace else and it AUTOMATICALLY will capitalize the B in black.
I sell on eBay and it does the same thing there?
The victim is a deer caught in the open, and “where you from?” is the spotlight.
One can override spelchuk to use lower case black and further capitalize White.
So, who was driving Travens? He wasn’t old enough to drive himself.
Never mind...I see it was his older brother.
So did he really mean to say “Where you from white boy?” and just didn’t finish the question.
no idea who this is or why it is posted here.
Because the only murder I am interested in memorializing is Ashley Babbitt’s.
