Russia has accused Donald Trump of falling victim to 'emotional overload' at a 'crucial moment' after the US President labelled Vladimir Putin 'absolutely crazy' for his brutal missile attacks on Ukraine.
When asked about Trump's explosive remarks, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov hit back but also thanked the President for helping to enable ceasefire talks.
'We are really grateful to the Americans and to President Trump personally for their assistance in organising and launching this negotiation process,' he said.
'Of course, at the same time, this is a very crucial moment, which is associated, of course, with the emotional overload of everyone absolutely and with emotional reactions,' he then added.
The reaction came following one of Moscow's biggest aerial attacks on Ukraine since the war began, with Russian forces bombarding civilian areas across the country, forcing NATO to scramble warplanes from Poland for the second night in a row.
The massive overnight attack saw Russia launch 355 drones - a new record high - as well as nine cruise missiles, according to the Ukrainian air force. Air raid alerts blared for six hours straight in Kyiv.

Trump calling Putin crazy indicates that he still does not understand the Russian leader. Putin does not think like us, does not share our values, does not value human life.
Good points. Trump is still Commander-in-Chief, and leader of the so called free world. NATO is his toy. Zelinski is his employee. Everything is theater. Trump asked Putin not to respond to Biden’s missiles into Russia before the election when it looked like Trump would win. Trump is still trying to salvage property rights to Project Ukriane; however, the Russians have paid for it with blood and sweat. The EU just has to print more money. Get your Bitcoin like Blackrock and insulate yourself from the coming write offs in Ukraine of the assets underpinning the loans, which are increasingly under Russian Management.
How is Putin a threat to other Countries when he could not take “Kiev in 3 Days”?
The Russians have a volunteer fighting force in Ukraine and if wasting lives was a reality, there would not be 1.7m Russians under arms 3 years later in the “Western Meatgrinder” when Russia started with 540K around the world. When a million Russias are wading thru Ukraine after the kick off the annual summer offensive season, it appears it is the NATO chain of command that leaves their soldiers surrounded and pounded and never give the order to retreat, or use fire and manuever tactics.
