However, Ukrainian lawmaker Oleksiy Goncharenko told Newsweek that the city of Sumy would be too big for Russian forces to capture.

I guess he has a short memory, Marioupol, Bakmut, etc, etc…..meanwhile Vlad is giving the Ukies the “ Pac-Man” treatment, gobbling up one city after another.

Still think it was a great idea for Ukraine to have invaded Kursk, Marcus?

Ukraine taking any peace deal it can get would be the play unless it wants to lose Sumy and Kharkov.

Worth noting... moves and counter-moves.

"Ukrainian Air Force Admits Patriot Systems Struggling Against Upgraded Russian Missiles

"Russian ballistic missiles have been upgraded, making them significantly harder to intercept—even with American-made Patriot systems.

"This admission came from Yuriy Ihnat, spokesman for the Ukrainian Air Force, following a Russian missile strike on Kiev overnight.

"According to Ihnat, Russia’s Iskander-M missiles are now equipped with radar decoys that are released during the terminal phase of flight, complicating interception. Moreover, the missiles are no longer following simple ballistic paths but are now maneuvering mid-flight along quasi-ballistic trajectories, making it harder for Patriot systems to calculate interception points.

... video at linky thing

How could Russia have conducted a full-scale invasion for more than three years but still have the troops amassing on the Sumy border?

Sumy oblast residents are running for their lives.
But how could this be?
After all, we were told Daily that Ruzzia could not even take “Kiev in 3 Days”.
Now, residents of Sumy oblast are fleeing for their lives.

Trump has told people in his administration that the US is not longer the dominate military power in the world, a position we have held for maybe 20 years; US military domination is over. Trump says we are now in a period of Great Power Competition.

There are many people who have to be spoon fed this. They cannot imagine that the US is no longer the dominate force in the world. This was squandered by design starting with the Clintons, by Obama and then specifically by Biden’s corrupt administration.

When Project Ukraine was hatched in 2008 it was at waning moments of US dominance, and no one realized the Obama pivot to our previous enemies had actually repositioned the US into just another big dog in the pack.

The war in Ukraine is the evidence that this long period of DNC corruption holding the presidency was period when America lost competitiveness not only in our schools, workforce but in society as racism and wokeness set us back. The social creep into DOD has resulted in grand plans launched in a period of dominance falling apart as a suprise to the average citizen that consequences have made themmselves evident. We denied our best and brightest and those lesser endowed countries have caught up and in some areas surpassed us.

Trump at least recognizes American dominance is over. Biden’s failure to engage in diplomacy was the clue that our ideas and motives were no longer just nor acceptable in the world’s larger community.

Vladimir Putin's forces are massing next to Russia's border with Ukraine's Sumy oblast

Excuse me, didn't you post countless articles about how Russians have been reduced to fighting with shovels and rocks?

Z must be the Maxwell House of Ukraine: “Good to the last soldier.”

He really has only one card to play and that card is in Pripyat. That card is a suicide play for Europe. Just ask Gorby.
