The Pentagon is sending 1,115 additional active-duty troops to deploy to the U.S.-Mexico border, bringing the number of service members there close to 10,000.

The troops will mainly help with sustainment engineering, logistics, medical and construction, U.S. Northern Command said in a statement Thursday.

The additional service members mark another increase in the military’s role in supporting President Trump’s aggressive immigration control agenda.

There are already just shy of 8,000 active-duty troops at the border, with the added 1,115 bringing the total to nearly 10,000, a figure approved by Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth earlier this year.

Great news. 2028 is so important now. This will all be dismantled unless it’s an actual nationalist succeeding 47.

They oughta just stand up a couple of Army divisions to patrol and guard the borders.

It’s a good idea I’ve been suggesting something like that be done for years have the National Guard do their one weekend and rotate them periodically so that there is a continued and consistent presence

Weapons free ROE one would hope. Of course the down side to that is that the detritus floating downstream pollutes the water - bad for livestock.

I would be fine with them dispatching a few Warthogs while they’re at it.

I just looked up the warthog to remind myself what it looks like in the air. This is the first time I’ve seen one with a face painted on it.

Who wouldn’t want one to fly of these babies in support of troops on the ground? I’m a former former paratrooper and Special Agent during the Reagan years, but still think about whether I should’ve applied to become an A-10 or Apache pilot.

Did you know the A-10 is being upgraded?
