In a recent interview, a well-known professor who taught at Columbia University for 46 years questioned whether or not President Obama actually attended the Ivy League school.
Prominent Columbia professor Henry Graff says he isn’t sure President Obama ever attended the Ivy League school.
“I taught every significant politician that ever studied at Columbia,” said Columbia Emeritus Professor of History Henry Graff, in an interview last week with Wayne Root, a contributor at The Blaze. “Between American History and Diplomatic History, one way or another, they all had to come through my classes.”
“Not Obama,” he continued. “I never had a student with that name in any of my classes. I never met him, never saw him, never heard of him.”
Graff alleged that “none of the other Columbia professors knew him either” and said he is “very upset” to hear Obama referred to as a graduate of Columbia University.
“I am angry when I hear Obama called ‘the first President of the United States from Columbia University,’” he said. “I don’t consider him a Columbia student. I have no idea what he did on the Columbia campus. No one knows him.”
Graff is the recipient of the Kaul Foundation Award of Excellence in the field of education, an honor that is tied to a prize of $100,000. He is the author of multiple books and is known for teaching the first course on the history of the Presidency.
Why would he have to live in Connecticut? That could be where he applied for the card. It’s not far from NYC.
I don’t understand the drift of your questions besides happy animus and the general difficulty of adjusting prejudices. Beyond that, that degree was way too long ago to pull up from memory: It was something that said roughly: Columbia University in the City of New York: School of General Studies. (That said, as a student at GS I took graduate level course and columbia college courses.)

There were elaborate contortions made to get Obama in office and since his time in office the nation has truly been transformed into something unrecognizable as the same Constitutional Republic that it was before. With hindsight all the intentions of the coup plotters is more clear than ever, and this has to be dealt with.

I have the 042 prefix. Not born in CT, born in Michigan. But in those years, nobody got a SSN at birth, they got their SSN when they wanted to start a job or work. I was living in CT when I hit age 15 or so.

If the number was based on where you were when you started working, then when was 0 ever near Connecticut and needed the number for work?

Not based on where you started working, only based on where you applied for the card. You didn’t have to work to get a social security number. But if he had a job in Hawaii before going to NY, without a SS # the job wasn’t with holding taxes. Doesn’t seem likely.
I hadn’t heard that it was a previously issued number. Don’t know if they reissue numbers of the deceased.
As I said NYC is near Connecticut. IF Obama really did go to Columbia then he was near Connecticut.

After reviewing my wording, I apologize if this came across as an interrogation or in any way criticizing you personally. My interest in these factoids is only because Obama’s experience, degree, etc. would almost certainly be the same as your own. You seem ideally positioned to shed light on an old subject.
At one time I was intrigued by which Columbia institution Obama was enrolled in, and which, if any, conferred his degree, mostly because something so simple as a President’s higher education had been rendered so opaque. This remains enigmatic, though of scant import.
