Disney World has placed dozens of Venezuelan employees on unpaid leave after a court ruling allowed the Trump administration to strip legal protections from 350,000 migrants.
An estimated 45 employees at the Florida park were notified on Tuesday that they had been placed on unpaid leave as a direct result of a Supreme Court order allowing Trump to revoke Temporary Protected Status for a huge cohort of Venezuelans.
These employees were warned that their jobs would be terminated next month if they could not secure a new work authorization, Bloomberg reported.
'As we sort out the complexities of this situation, we have placed affected employees on leave with benefits to ensure they are not in violation of the law,' a Disney spokesperson said.
'We are committed to protecting the health, safety, and well-being of all our employees who may be navigating changing immigration policies and how they could impact them or their families.'
Each of the employees have been placed on a 30-day period of unpaid leave, beginning May 20.
Disney World is one of the largest employers in Florida, with around 82,000 members of staff, who are described as 'cast members.'
According to the publication, at least one Venezuelan employee turned up to work on Tuesday and was turned away.

WHERE ARE THE FINES FOR HIRING THEM?
IIRC-—FINES==$5000 per day per employee
they were tps which allows for work permits
but now they are suspended
These migrants had protected status so legally speaking, they aren’t considered illegals, so laws concerning illegal workers do not apply. Hence, they could get jobs, and be taxed, etc.
The one thing that might be out of the ordinary is whether or not a US official signed off on them receiving protected status, since an autopen signature does not me necessarily mean an actual US official signed off on the status.
President Autopen, whoever that is, was abusing the protected status provisions for asylum seekers, of course, passing out such status to anyone and everyone.
Gosh, maybe Disney will be forced to take the truly desperate step of employing Americans.
Nope!
Let me tell you a Disneyworld story. My wife is Filipino and has a younger cousin who was in college studying tourism. During the summer break one year she was given a worker VISA and brought to Disneyworld to work for the summer. They paid for her flights, and they have dorms for them to live in. She “did her time”, and then went home.
So, they’ll just legally import more people from other places. They liked the Venezuelans because they were already here, and they might not have had to put them up in the dorms.
Send them to Venezuela, the happiest place on Earth
The first step (of many) to self-deportation is removing the financial incentive for the illegal to remain here. No jobs, no EBT, no welfare, no access to medical care, etc. Remove the carrot while reminding them that there is a stick also.
How many are illegally here?
H2B visas have long been a thing. Seasonal workers using H2B visas are common in amusement parks and have been for many many years. Several of President Trump’s businesses use H2B workers.
