Vanity: Virginia has a Red Flag Law - Should Comey's guns be seized?

I completely disagree with red flag laws in that anyone truly presenting a danger to themselves or others need to be incarcerated.

Nevertheless, Comey likely has loyalists in the FBI feeding him info regularly. I wouldn't be surprised if such folks were involved with the Butler PA assassination attempt.

Any investigation of Comey should include that angle, not just the post.

TDS is real, after all. It could be a joke, but his TDS history should not be ignored in this case.

I’ve known people who have attempted suicide. They get put in the loony bin for 30 days and release if it’s believed the threat has passed.

Red Flag laws consider the case of those being a bona-fide threat to others and guns can be seized without a hearing involving the defendant. So in the threat to others case, the comparable treatment would be to hold them in jail until it’s believed the threat has passed.

This is the oxymoron of Red Flag laws - if they are not truly a danger, then there is no need to take the guns. If they are, they need to be locked up.

I don’t know. I thought I’ve read in the past that he was a VA resident. Nevertheless, the other jurisdictions in the area -Maryland and DC, also have Red Flag laws. Of course, he may have moved to another state.

Bondi is hardly projecting the image of an intrepid enforcer of the law. State or federal.

Red Flag laws are probably many more times abused for personal or political purposes, than used for the ostensible purpose the public expects, or would expect.

Corruption being so rampant these days.

She has been plenty busy. Her job is leading the DOJ.

Just because the MSM doesn’t report something doesn’t mean it isn’t happening. You would think Trump is just joyriding around the Middle East and not working if you relied on the media.

Arrests are no good if a case cannot be brought to prosecute. A case must be built first. The wheels of justice grind very slowly.

When it comes to high-status Democrats, the wheels don't grind at all. The Democrats always get away clean.

But, as the Democrats have shown us, "the process is the punishment". Let Comey spend a good chunk of his fortune on lawyers and a bunch of his time in court.

A 4am raid on his premises complete with reporters at the scene would be good too.

YES!!

If the SOB has to eat a poop sandwich, he deserves it. We win.

If the SOB takes it to court and SCOTUS throws out red flag laws, we win.
