I'd put money on it that it wasn't the drop that fired the round, it was when he grabbed it to pick it back up and pressed the trigger.

It was likely a Glock since they don't have a safety.

Has the store not heard of not handing a customer a loaded gun. I worked for them while I was on terminal leave with the military and I was selling weapons at around 4 per day by myself. I never let a customer have a loaded weapon and mde it a point to open the chambers each time I pulled one from the rack to let a customer feel it. They always got the rifles and shotguns open chambered and I never let them touch them prior to my inspection. How hard is that?
