@tomselliott

Sen. @RandPaulon @SpeakerJohnson's "obscene" spending bill: "No conservative should support raising the debt ceiling $5 trillion. So, that alone is enough for me not to support the bill, even though I support large segments of the bill."

I was just saying this yesterday. Trump wants to leave office with a $50 trillion economy and a debt to equity ratio of 50%.

How long do you expect him to stay in the White House? Ten years? The current GDP in about 30 trillion. To get to 50 trillion with GDP growing 5% year on year would take 10 years. Spending needs to be cut back to per COVID numbers (4 T) plus an addition 20% growth over the last 5 years to 4.8 trillion. Anything over this is unsustainable.

but what would be different this time

Everything is different.

The Legacy Media is no longer a hegemony.

Trump is a force of nature.

Social Media is an extremely powerful force.

WE are better at making our case. We always have been but now we have a chance to actually make our argument heard.

We are so far out over our skis right now, it is do or die time. We don't have any more time to dick around doing what we have done for the past 30 years and letting the Dems dominate us.

I see it that the difference is Trump not Congress. They will not be better. We are having enough difficulty getting then to pass a portion of Trump’s agenda. Congress is corrupt, nourished to obesity on pay to play They are not the white knight riding to save the day. Betting on Congress is a losing hand.

Normal folks cheer.
Barking Seals follow their masters.
Everything Rand states here is solid logic.
The typical blowhards will cheer the big beautiful bag of shite.

So you support the Democrats? If Trump signs such a bill HE supports the Democrats. How about balance the budget NOW? Not tomorrow, not next year...NOW.

Trump supports the Democrats, simply put. For all his posturing, he has no plan to cut the debt.

I have an idea, how about defaulting on the debt, let the Federal Reserve lose its shorts, and print US bills not Federal Reserve Notes.

We must spend money to save money. My wife told me that, and then I got divorced. She is broke, I have a house and a car paid for.

Like my wife going on a spending spree on new clothes, furniture, housewears and a car. That will save me money in the future, right?

Perhaps not an equivalent situation.
Since the whole big beautiful bill may be unravelling the naysayers could experience the evaporation of a way forward as well as significant rise in taxation and constraints in deportations and air travel. They can comfort themselves after the inevitable rise in debt ceiling by badmouthing Congress.

No talks about the $500 billion in annual tariff revenues.

The Free Traitors™ ruined the economy. Trump is repatriating industry and building a viable economy. If you can't see that then you are more ignorant than I thought.

Sorry to resurrect this back from the dead but I also just learned that the Senate vote to approve James Comey as FBI head had one lone vote against.

Guess who?

The one principled Senator who doesn’t simply vote party line.
