When reading Pope Leo’s bio, I personally didn’t read about a grandfather from Haiti. I read that a grandmother had Creole heritage or something like that.

The race of the pope, the country of origin of the pope is not important in the least. The Pope should be concerned with preserving The Church in its traditions. I like the Latin Mass but if a local church wants to do the mass in the local language that is okay. To tell a church they CAN Not conduct a mass in Latin is an attack on The Church and its traditions. When a Pope becomes politically active it opens The Church to division and weakness. The Pope is The Pope of the Catholic faith of the world, he is not Pope of the World.

Mehmet Ali Ağca converted to Christianity while in prison, he was not born into a Catholic family and did not convert to Catholicism. He converted to Christianity after his imprisonment. Specifically, he announced that he had left Islam and embraced a Christian faith.
