When reading Pope Leo’s bio, I personally didn’t read about a grandfather from Haiti. I read that a grandmother had Creole heritage or something like that.

Creole can be any color or mix.................

His maternal grandmother was light skinned “black” from New Orleans and his maternal grandfather was Haitian. His father was white French, etc. from New Orleans. His mother essentially passed as white. His mother’s family is mostly considered black. He would be considered white in Latin America, but is black by the one drop rule.
