A young female rugby player who was left screaming in agony after a transgender rival tore apart her knee ligaments has accused sporting chiefs of letting her down.
Elena King, 20, suffered a torn ACL and MCL in January in the Netherlands after her biologically male opponent popped her left knee out of its socket with a rash challenge.
Now facing lifelong pain and six months of physiotherapy just to run again, she is asking why the Dutch Rugby Association allows transgender athletes to compete against women.

Thank you very much and God bless you.
Elena, you, and all your teammates, should have refused to go on the pitch with a man.
Can’t they sue ?
OUCH!!!!!!!!!
I tore both ACL and MCL my senior year in high school football...It cost me a scholarship that had been offered...
Because the leftscum including US Dems ignore reality and don’t care how many women get hurt in their quest to corrupt society.
This “males dressed in drag” being allowed to assault women by being allowed to engage in women’s sports is going to be funny until one of the thugs actually kills a female player. Wake up JUGHEADS!!! Males are not women just because they say they are!
Disgusting.
It’s like the joke in movies where all the team are hairy males dressed as women
Women should not have to quit playing but with the out of control, uncivilized authorities at the helm, the only way to stop this is stop playing sports where men are involved
Playing rugby with a guy?
No
When the boys played football in the back yard it was touch football. When they needed extras they asked us to play. No one got hurt
Rugby is not a female sport anyway. Very unladylike.
Why do people continue to tolerate this nonsense? It should be long over by now.
It’s allowed to happen because women won’t stop competing against men.
There was a REASON why women didn’t get to vote in the first 4900 years of recorded society.
There are even professional women boxers who had to take a few punches to the head from amateur male boxers to disabuse themselves of the insane idea that women and men have equal strength and stamina.
Long before this woman stepped onto the pitch, she needed professional help to stop believing lies others told her. Now she needs physical therapy in addition to mental therapy.
She, along with so many other women, need to go back and punch their feminist mothers right in the mouth for the lies those "front-hole chest-feeders" told them.
Feelings! Can’t hurt those.
Female ruggers are pretty tough.
Rugby isn’t more violent than football or hockey. The lack of pads actually makes it safer. And when it is played correctly, there is not as much “piling on” because the ball is released when you are tackled.
I would have no problem with my daughters playing. But getting hit by another woman is one thing…getting hit by a 6 foot, 195# guy is a different story.
I tore my MCL carrying a box down some steps
ZERO sympathy for her.
She should have refused to play. Had she and the women walked from the game, the injury would not have occurred.

And also, That’s Rugby ! 🏉
My brother dislocated his shoulder playing Rugby.
Not sure that the player being transgender had anything to do with the injury
Not sure that the player ‘making a rash tackle’ had anything to do with the injury either.
It is a rough game.

Abstract
Objectives: To determine the rates, severity and burden of knee injuries in professional male rugby union from the English Premiership.
Methods: Injury and exposure data were captured over 20 seasons using a prospective cohort design. Knee injury incidence, days’ absence and burden were recorded for each injury type and by pitch surface type for match and training.
Results: The rate of knee injury in matches was 9.8/1000 hours (95% CIs 9.3-10.3). Mean days lost were 50 (95% CI 46 to 53) in matches and 51 (95% CI 44 to 57) in training. In matches, medial collateral ligament injuries were the most common, while anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injuries had the highest mean severity and burden. There was no significant change in the count of knee injuries over time; however, average severity increased significantly (annual change: 2.18 days (95% CI 1.60 to 2.77); p<0.001). The incidence of match knee injury was 44% higher on artificial pitches than grass pitches (incidence rate ratio: 1.44 (95% CI 1.21 to 1.69); p<0.01), with no significant difference in severity between surfaces. In matches, the tackle was the event most commonly associated with knee injuries for all diagnoses, except ACL injuries (running). In training, running was a more common injury event than the tackle.
Conclusion: Knee injuries in matches are common and severe in English professional men’s rugby union. Despite an increased focus on player conditioning and injury prevention throughout the study period, rates of knee injury remained stable, and resulting days’ absence increased. New strategies for the prevention of knee injuries should be considered a priority.
