Maybe Donald will visit Letitia’s trial

As my late mother used to say, God has a great sense of humor.

About a year ago, AG Leticia James was in the courtroom watching President Trump on trial. My guess is that she was enjoying the show and imagining what her TV ads for governor were going to be like. “Vote for me because no one, not even Trump, is above the law” or something like that.

Well, it didn’t turn out that way. Maybe President Trump will go to her trial. Here is the latest in the life and times of AG Letitia James:

The FBI in Albany has opened a formal criminal investigation examining the real estate and mortgage transactions of New York Attorney General Letitia James, according to law enforcement sources briefed on the matter.

It’s unclear why U.S. Attorney General Pam Bondi steered the referral to New York’s Northern District; although James is a statewide elected official with offices in Albany, the transactions involve her personal property purchases and loans that were processed in New York City and Virginia. Some of the transactions also may fall outside the federal statute of limitations, although one of the mortgages involves James’ assertions in loan documents related to her 2023 purchase of a residence in Norfolk, Va.

Well, let’s see how this unfolds. A mortgage fraud trial? Where did we hear that before? Didn’t they try to nail Trump on a fraud trial?

Like any of us, AG James is entitled to due process, so let’s see what happens when the evidence is presented. The heart of the matter is over a personal residence and a rule that a principal residence as a statewide elected official must be in New York.

James falsifying bank documents is a serious crime, often a federal felony, and carries significant penalties. Depending on the circumstances and the specific laws violated, it can result in imprisonment for many years, substantial fines, and other consequences like asset forfeiture.

Falsifying bank documents, especially with the intent to defraud, can be a federal felony.

18 U.S.C. § 1002: This section of the U.S. Code deals with possessing false, altered, forged, or counterfeit writings or documents to defraud the United States or any agency thereof.

18 U.S.C. § 1005:
This section prohibits making false entries in bank records, reports, or statements with the intent to defraud or deceive.

18 U.S.C. § 1344:
This law addresses bank fraud, which includes obtaining money or property from a financial institution through fraudulent means.

Conviction for bank fraud can lead to imprisonment for up to 30 years and/or a fine of up to $1 million, as well as potential asset forfeiture. Under 18 U.S.C. § 1002, penalties include fines and imprisonment for up to five years.

Falsifying bank statements, deposit slips, loan applications, or any document used to obtain money or property from a bank are all examples of falsifying bank documents.

The crime typically requires intent to defraud or deceive, meaning the person knowingly made false entries or used false documents with the goal of gaining something illegally.

I doubt that the Donald has the time to honor a hemorrhoid.

Female, black and, most importantly, a Democrat.

She’ll walk.

Moving it away from SDNY is smart. After what she tried with Trump, I want to see worry on her face.

Since the stupid voters in NY are now on the hook, jail time is warranted.

I wouldn’t be surprised if New York is using federal funds to cover her defence.

Prosecution should get a cardboard cutout and seat it at the prosecution table. (The judge will direct its removal but it makes the point.) Hope they get to enter all her “No one is above the law” statements.

Is DJT’s picture in federal courtrooms? I hope so.

I would find his personal presence potentially prejudicial, similar to Obama’s “If I had a son...” comment, re: the George Zimmerman trial, as well as inconvenient for a lot of folks, even though they’re New Yorkers....

I hope they make her appear like Trump had to for his trials.

The absence of her ability to work in NY at those times will be a general benefit to the country.

President DJT has way more productive things to do than waste his time on a Big Tish trial. She’s an arrogant vindictive beech who was selected far above her competency level. Biggest clown in her own circus.
