It’s not uncommon for Bravolebs to push back against the establishment when they leave the Bravoverse. Whether it is by firing or by their own choice. Many before Hannah Berner have burned bridges. But the Summer House star is more than willing to open up about how reality TV is “rampant with misogyny.”
After her great success at the Festival of Books, touring with Paige DeSorbo, the comedian sat down to chat with The Hollywood Reporter about her experiences in reality TV. And it turns out that Hannah doesn’t have the stomach for those types of shows anymore. She shared, “The stand-up special is my therapy. Reality TV was one of the ways that I was put on. So I’m so grateful for it. But I can’t watch reality TV anymore.” Hannah expanded on her thoughts, “I do think reality TV, as I saw, that everyone is put into characters, and you’re very much put into a box. The rampant misogyny, gave me this chip on my shoulder to be like, I want to be seen as me.”

I don’t know anything about these shows either, but my guess is that any conflict at all is perceived as misogyny, and these conflicts are what put asses in the seat. Most of those asses being woman’s asses.
She comes out and says she is grateful that it gave her a chance at exposure. She agreed to it, for money and fame. We all know its not “reality” if it isn’t scripted it is definitely sculpted by deliberately putting people into situations and then editing their actions/reactions into a TV 1 22 minute show.
Misogyny to these people means,”I didn’t get what I wanted whenever I wanted it “
They just follow the script.
She made it up. Reality TV is a bastion of BS but not misogyny...
She’s another one who says ‘archetype’ when she apparently means ‘stereotype’.
Not unlike many females
Made up crap about misogyny for attention. The whole genre is about drama. Duh! 🙄
Now let’s ask Paige why she treated Craig so badly!
“She’s another one who says ‘archetype’ when she apparently means ‘stereotype’.”
But archetype sounds oh so much more sophisticated.
Because the overwhelming audience for these reality TV shows is women who want to see women more physically attractive than themselves taken down a few notches.
