The GOP's complacency is actually sabotage.
Momentum fading? More like shifting to 4th gear.
Some of the cuts will be permanent whether in law or reversed by the next president. Once the employees are terminated and the structure is absorbed by another organization the ability to bring it back to life is very difficult.
How Jamie Raskin can make the quoted statement that foreign leaders that cooperate with with Trump will be retaliated against when the left regains the WH and not get a FBI SWAT raid for insurrection, sedition and violation of the Baker Act is mind boggling, but there it is.
He isn't infallible, and that vision failed pretty miserably when it came to responding to Covid, and to the election of 2020.
Whatever Trump says something that is unnecessarily controversial - like his "trolling" comments, we are told to lighten up because that's just how Trump is, and he doesn't care how people react to what he says.
And that is a big part of the problem. Because guess what? When you are President, what you say really does matter, and you can gain or lose political support based on the things you say, even if they are just "trolling" other people to get under their skin.
Part of being a leader is convincing others to follow you, and that includes Congress. Maybe we need a bit less trolling and a bit more leadership. Pointing fingers after the fact and saying "well that guy was just a RINO and should have supported me" doesn't pass legislation.
If it was wiped out by executive order, it can be recreated by executive order. And Democrats will waste no time recreating a bureaucracy staffed entirely by their own loyalists if we don't get this done via legislation
I thought the American Thinker was right leaning.
I see I was wrong.
Vince is listening to the FAKE LSM polls that have the sampling of pubbies at around 38%.
That’s why he thinks Trump is fading.
So what is Johnson and the pubbie leadership team doing about it?
Are they actively trying to get votes to pass the bills or are they dragging their feet?
Taking yet another long weekend isn't the answer.
I did not see the article as left leaning at all. It showed that President Trump is trying to do what he promised, but that the left has regrouped and is using lower court injunctions to tie up everything in litigation. The article points out that Congress could be doing much more and that the Supreme Court could reign in the lower courts, but they have not. The article says that not enough conservatives in government are fighting with Trump and I tend to agree.
The first four words of this article set the stage for a “Trump is a failure” theme. Even the headline (honeymoon is over) was designed to cast doubt.
I’m the first to agree that things aren’t perfect in Trumplandia. Yet.
But I didn’t like the tone of this article.
The GOP has a very narrow margin in the House ... which means that every loser and misfit has a lot of leverage to block any political agenda.
It’s like this Congress and Senate and a hooker you know what all of them are going to do to you.
Time for Congress and Senate reread the rules of their office duties.
No they won't lose again. They have LOTS of money. And LOTS and LOTS of incredibly STUPID smartphone-addicted voters.
Cabala had lots of money too. It didn’t help her much, in fact her campaign ended up 20 mil in the hole. And they are losing voters not gaining them. They are playing the same game over and over and it’s gotten old. People are sick of it. In highly democratic N.J. they lost several counties that went red and voted for Trump. Other states as well.
“I didn’t like the tone of this article.” Me neither. There really was no “Honeymoon”. Trump got to work op day 1 and has not let up. He has drastically stopped the flow of illegals aliens from crossing the border. Border czar Cabala never even went there. He’s opening up our oil, gas and coal fields. The tariffs are only bargaining chips for fair trade, and countries are lining up to make deals. I would call that a very successful first 5 months.
Trump puts America first......you got a problem with that?
No, but that's not THE ONLY thing he does, and it is those OTHER things with which I have a problem.
The stupid comments that are defended as Trump just "trolling", and "having fun", and those of us who don't like them should just "lighten up". Whether it's about Canada, or Greenland, or any other unnecessary "dig" purely for amusement.
Those kind of unnecessary statements, that have nothing to do with actual policy but are literally just trolling, cost him political support among Republicans and others. And when you try to point this out, you're told to lighten up and he's just having fun. Well, I hope the fun and chuckles from the trolling are worth it when it alienates political support that might otherwise help him enact his agenda.
The American Stinker is back on its long-held anti-Trump bandwagon...
