Donald Trump’s Lost Honeymoon
American Thinker ^ | 8 Mat, 2025 | Vince Coyner

Trump’s momentum is fading, and there’s still work ahead to get America back to a constitutional path. Congress isn’t helping, but neither is his team.

As the West was seemingly spinning off its axis of common sense, it was the relief of a lifetime when Donald Trump prevailed in 2024. Suddenly, the world that had been turned on its head was going to be set right again. We were going to have an actual border again. Men weren’t going to be allowed to play in women’s sports. Freedom of speech was going to be a thing again. DEI was going to be fading in the rear-view mirror rather than a roadblock to merit and success.

On most things, the President has been rock solid. But, sadly, there are troubling circumstances nonetheless.

One is highlighted by Democrat Jamie Raskin’s warning to countries that work with the Trump administration:

If and when we come back to power, and we will, we are not going to look kindly upon people who facilitated, to use the word of the day, who facilitated authoritarianism in our country. That’s an assault on our Constitution and our people.

Raskin is explicitly threatening consequences for those countries that work with the Trump administration when Democrats return to power.

That promise showcases one of the fundamental problems with the Trump 47 administration: Executive Orders. The problem with EOs is that they are not laws and, therefore, are susceptible to reversal by the next guy who sits in the Oval Office. (One that should have been but never was reversed is JFK’s Executive Order 10988, which allowed federal employees to unionize.)

Trump has issued Executive Orders addressing issues from immigration to energy to education to keeping men out of women’s sports and more. They’re great, but unfortunately, Congress

Trump has made a lot of progress, and is continuing making progress. Raskin is a snake and an anti Americam pos. The problem Trump has and I’m sure he expected it, is all the libtard judges that order the EO’s to stop. The supreme court needs to work with Trump, and if that happens (in most cases) he’ll be more successful. Looking ahead, I don’t see any chance the dem’s will win in ‘28. If AOC and Bernie are the best they have, then they’ll lose again. They have no real message, no solutions, no ideas, except to whine about Trump.

About the EO’s not being acted on by Congress: they aren’t interested.

People’s days are filled whether they are accomplishing anything or not. Every minute of every day is occupied with something. The EO’s are something happening elsewhere to someone who isn’t in Congress. If Congress wanted them turned into laws, that would take effort and leadership and pressure. All of that would be on top of the other things that fully occupy the day. It would interfere with the routine, naps, lunches. Not worth the effort.

“Not even for a nanosecond should we ever ever underestimate Donald Trump.

He has a unique short term/long term vision which he applies to his every action.”

I never do. Ever.

Watch.

Strange how he would quote Raskin as if his statement is the default, governing position of the future, when in fact it borders on treason.

And Trump is losing momentum because every EO now gets an immediate restraining order from a DC Circuit judge. Chief Justice Roberts could order them to stop, but he has not done so. All of the Trump EOs now get tied up in court where they won’t be decided for months or maybe years.

What this guy apparently doesn’t understand is that most of these EOs have been on “80-20” issues where even most Democrats don’t buy into their own party’s idiocy.

Sometimes MTG sounds like a moron.

Johnson isn’t holding votes on the legislation she wants to pass because he doesn’t have the votes to pass them.

If the list never sees the light of day, particularly after Epstein and his primary accuser committed “suicide”, then the public will know for sure that the rich and powerful—including politicians—are not held accountable, regardless of their transgressions.

I think most of us were well aware of this reality long before we learned of Jeffrey Epstein.

No one is talking about rounding up anyone simply because they’re Democrats.

Though, to be fair, doing so would yield about a 90% accuracy rate in terms of bagging criminals.

The biggest prize of all will be the passage of the "One Big Beautiful Bill". This is a very large and complex bill and from what we're hearing, much of Congress' time is consumed in crafting this bill. This bill is Trump's top priority and Johnson and Thune are treating it as such.

Give it more time. If Congress fails to pass Trump's priority bill, then the naysayers will be proven correct. If, on the other hand, the bill is passed in mid-summer, Congress has plenty of time to move on to other legislation and codifying Trump's EO's. (but no one should expect the naysayers here to admit they were wrong -- they'll just move onto the next subject to bitch about)

President Trump ran on a platform of overturning Biden's EOs. Will the Democrats run on a platform of overturning Trump's EOs? Would that be a winning platform for them in 2028 if Trump is successful?

Maybe President Trump will frame the 2026 mid-term as sending him a Congress that will turn his EOs into law?

I have never heard of Vince Coyner. However anyone who uses this to make a point: “One is highlighted by Democrat Jamie Raskin’s warning to countries that work with the Trump administration:If and when we come back to power, and we will, we are not going to look kindly upon people who facilitated, to use the word of the day, who facilitated authoritarianism in our country. Anyone who uses Marxist Raskin as a voice of reason is either a fellow-traveler, a fool, or both.

“There needs to be an effort to primary RINOs. Even when Republicans have the majority, it still does not matter.”

The trick is to do it without risking seats.....

Here we are. Trump is the one man who could get the RINO, “comprehensive immigration reform” agenda past Republican voters:

Republicans don’t have a filibuster proof 60 majority in the Senate, so Trump has to do what he can with EOs and the reconciliation bill now underway. Codification will need to wait until it’s politically possible in Congress. You’ll get no help from Democrats.

“Trump’s momentum is fading, and there’s still work ahead to get America back to a constitutional path.”

The Deep State, including Congre$$, the Supreme Clowns of the US and now low level judges, are well on their way of destroying Pres. Trump’s effort to make America great again and are probably looking for the right time to assume the throne and create their long desired totalitarian state.
