I was in New Orleans several years ago when there was a big sink hole in Canal Street down by the casino.

True to New Orleans form, they held a big “Sink Hole de Mayo” Party.

The party grew so big they had to move it so no one fell in the hole. 😁

Hoping that the agencies involved in their ‘rescue’ are fully reimbursed, given that the number of people on board was twice the boat’s capacity. Someone is responsible for that little bit of idiocy, and it ain’t we taxpayers.

My first thought. A rookie error that's easy to make if you're a rookie captain. Add overcapacity and you have a real party! Everyone in the pool!

Been there done that. Dad had bought an 18’ Bayliner and one day we were out on the river and noticed some water in the stern. We realized what happened, raced back to the dock, pulled it out of the water, screwed it in, put it back in the water and went on our merry way. We didn’t do THAT again.
