A lieutenant with the Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office was arrested by the City of Miami Police Department, Local 10 News learned Tuesday.

“It’s a superfluous charge that was unnecessary,” Daniel Chala said...

The false imprisonment charge, however, was dropped in bond court Tuesday.

Chala’s arrest report details the allegations against him, stating that officers responded to his apartment building Monday morning where they found the victim who said that she had been assaulted by Chala.
