Keeley Hawes is set to star in a major new Channel 4 drama, Falling, written by BAFTA award-winning Adolescence writer Jack Thorne.
The role will see Keeley (Scoop, Miss Austen) looking unrecognisable as she plays Anna, a devoted nun who unexpectedly falls in love with David, a Catholic priest, played by Paapa Essiedu (Black Mirror, The Lazarus Project).
The new six-part drama is the first love story written by Jack Thorne and follows both Anna and David as they grow closer and find themselves caught up in a case of forbidden love.
Anna and David are both deeply committed to their work in the church and community, and neither expects to fall in love. But when they do, both are forced to wrestle with what it means for them, their vows, and their relationship with God.

Thank you very much and God bless you.
How bold! How daring!
Sounds boring. I liked her in The Durrells though.
How 🤮!
Ashes to Ashes.
I’ll pass. 🙄
Episode One: Both fight with their inner voices questioning their own homosexuality
Episode Two: Maybe just a kiss, a lingering touch
Eposide Three: Both try to imagine intercourse with opposite sex and wonder if they can be satisfied in the flesh
Eposide Four: Last Flings, as both have their same sex romps and goodbye kisses
Eposide Five: Vile Rumors in within the clergy of the church as homosexuals turn to gossip about two possible lovers... complete with “they both know they can’t have an opposite sex relationship under the church roof” angle
Eposide Six: The conquest, the Elation, the Quilt before Jesus for their adultry before Jesus
Eposide Seven: The pregnacy and morning sickness during mass
Eposide Eight: The abortion complete with removing the church floor before the alter, and placing a small casket under the stone floor
As the credits roll, the audience is left to wonder why they had an affair, how homosexuality is okay within their order, and the sight of lowering an aborted baby into the floor where the Priest will give mass and services. Everyone concludes the Church is a Joke.
They are going to have two bonus epsoides according to my transcript.
Those wacky Brits
So will I, big time.
Pass
I like the Brit mysteries. But every single show has to have gay character in it now. Fortunately it usually isn’t too intrusive.
After looking up her pictures on Google, she appears to be very plain. Homely.
It actually happened.
