Kelly Tran’s The Wedding Banquet, which was advertised as a big, widely-released, queer, super-woke, gay remake died like few movies ever have at the box office this weekend.
This isn’t get woke, go broke.
This is get woke, shove a stick in your spokes, hit the ground, start to choke, have a stroke, and then croak broke.

Go woke go broke.
what i don’t understand is how the corporate theater chains got strong-armed into releasing into 1,200 theaters an obvious stinker like this that appeals to practically no one ...
It's been decades since I paid attention to what critics say about movies. They mostly like stuff I don't.
This is get woke, shove a stick in your spokes, hit the ground, start to choke, have a stroke, and then croak broke.
I think I get a bigger chuckle from Nolte's statement, even though I agree with the standard saying. 🤣
That’s what I do, if the critics love it stay away.
If they hate it, it will be great!.........................
Most of the theater chains in this country are owned by liberals..........
“Most of the theater chains in this country are owned by liberals”
almost every big business in this nation is opened and/or operated by liberals and leftist, but they still need to avoid losing so much money that they go bankrupt, and the major theater chains have gone into Chapter 11 so many times this century that i’ve lost count ... sooner or later they’ll go into Chapter 7 if they keep clogging up their theaters with this kind of garbage, and it won’t matter who owns them ...
1200 theaters and they posted a those numbers? Holee fook. Thats like 50-60 people maybe in each of those theaters for the whole holiday weekend. Multiple showings mind you Friday through Sunday.
Last Saturday Mrs L took me out to the movie. She picked it.
The Working Man starring Jason Statham. We both enjoyed it.

Hollywood says you will show it or the next Marvel’s / DC comics mega hit won’t be coming your way.
They keep losing money and they wonder why.
Simple: we have better things to do and families to raise.
When I see the crap that’s being selected for films and printed into books I shake my head a think twice about trying to get published.
The brick & mortar theaters are dying a slow death.
Streaming is the way people watch movies now. In the comfort of their own homes, own foods and no sticky floors.........
Given the way those Marvel movies are floundering these days, I would have said, “Deal!”
The 1993 original did very well. Nominations and made a fortune for such a low budget film.
Mr mm and I went to see The Chosen Season 5 in the theaters.
There are precious few movies we’ll do that for, but when anything decent and wholesome comes out, we like to support it.
Last one we went to see was *Sound of Freedom, the one about human (child sex) trafficking.
That was very good.
“own foods and no sticky floors.........”
No cell phones or mouthy members of a certain minority that won’t shut up.
“Hollywood says you will show it or the next Marvel’s / DC comics mega hit won’t be coming your way.”
that’s what i suspected too: hollywood “helping” to kill the golden goose because that kind of bundling will only accelerate the slow death of theaters ...
