Quarterback who famously took a knee during national anthem has not played in the NFL for the better part of a decade.
Colin Kaepernick is still seeking to return to the NFL, a decade after he was run out of the league for kneeling during the national anthem.
Paparazzi caught up with Kaepernick’s girlfriend, Nessa Diab, a radio and TV host, while she was in New York. She explained that Kaepernick, now 37, remarkably retains the dream of returning to the league that he was last seen playing in 2016 for the San Francisco 49ers.
Colin Kaepernick’s girlfriend said he wants to play
“Nothing has changed,” Diab told TMZ. “It’s all up to the teams if they’ll let him play.” Colin Kaepernick is still seeking to return to the NFL, a decade after he was run out of the league for kneeling during the national anthem.

My neighbors son was drafted as a NFL QB and cut after making the roster for one year. He’s playing in another US league to keep his skills sharp in the hope of making it back. He’s 26. Jeff Garcia of the 49ers played in Omaha in a similar bid years ago. What’s Colin been doing besides interviews and crying racism?
Hey OK. I heard the NFL is looking for someone to hand wash, machine wash is no good, players jock straps after every game. Sounds like an ideal match made for him.
And if anyone cares to remember—Kapernick was benched....no one was paying attention to him. He took to the knee then and no one cares—only when he said it was for X cause—did the attention flow his way—it still didn’t fix his inability to read defenses—He had a knack for scrambling because he took forever to find a receiver—then he would throw an interception. I am a long long time Niners fan and Kapernick carried the team to the Super Bowl after taking over mid season—and then promptly lost it. What a Putz...No Niner loses a Super Bowl—ask Joe or Steve...
Those are rookie bust numbers.
IIRC, it took less than two seasons for defenses to figure out and neutralize his one trick pony game. And that was about when he started flashing his race card to remain relevant. Now he’s just old.
Not qualified to walk my dog
Yup, me too. I was a longtime 49ers fan at the time. I jumped both feet on the bandwagon when Joe Montana led the 49ers to a regular season victory over the 'hated' Dallas Cowboys ('hated', because I originally was a Washington Redskins fan - when I lived in the area. But then we moved to the Bay Area, and after they fired the 'over the hill gang', I gave up on the Redskins. I wasn't a big 49ers fan either, until that victory over Dallas). I haven't watched much pro football over the past 10+ years.
But all of that aside, you are right - Kaepernick couldn't find an open receiver for the life of him, and after his bullet arm could no longer throw bullets - he just had his legs to run around. Good riddance when they finally got rid of him.
That year gave him an over-inflated sense of worth. He thought he was the golden boy who could do no wrong.
I wonder how many sleepless nights he's had about that kneeling crap.
Rachel Zegler has a better chance of making it into the NFL.
How can he play from a kneeling position?
Place kicker holder?
He should contact Uncle Rico.
Therein lies the problem.
Geeze, its been 10 years. No one wants you now. You couldn’t cut it if you tried...
he should switch to Canadian socker and kneel anytime he wants.
He can buy a ticket.
Even if he had any residual viability as an NFL backup (which he does not) he burned whatever bridges he had left for re-entry when he was given a special tryout session with the Falcons a few years ago and simply did not show up.
The clown is a liability to any team on multiple levels.
I haven’t watched the NFL since this crap went on. I think the players now stand for the anthem, but the problem for me is that, to the best of my knowledge, neither the league nor any individual teams made a rule that players must respect the flag and stand for the anthem.
