President Trump on Friday was adamant he was not being “played” in talks to end the war in Ukraine and sounded a confident note he would be able to close the deal after Secretary of State Marco Rubio indicated the clock was ticking on negotiations.
“We’re going to get it stopped, ideally. Now, if for some reason one of the two parties makes it very difficult, we’re just going to say ‘you’re foolish, you’re fools, you’re horrible people and we’re just going to take a pass.’ But hopefully we won’t have to do that,” Trump told reporters in the Oval Office.
“I think we have a good chance of solving the problem, however,” Trump added.
Asked if Russian President Vladimir Putin was stalling, as many skeptics have argued, Trump said he hoped not. Trump also brushed back a question about whether he was being played by Russia.
“No, nobody’s playing me. I’m trying to help,” Trump said.
“Nobody’s playing anybody. We are going to see if we can get it done,” he added. “I think we have a really good chance of getting it done. And it’s coming to a head right now.”
Trump would not say whether he would continue to provide support to Ukraine if ceasefire talks failed.
“I’m not going to say that, because I think we’re going to get it done,” Trump said.

I wish we would walk away and stop caring. Europe can solve it all.
I really hope that they can resolve this, and we can see an end to the bloodshed.

Zelensky agreed to a cease-fire. Russia did not.
Z agreed to the energy cease fire and broke it every day. Putin agreed to the energy cease fire and NEVER broke it! Like the title says, Trump isn’t getting played by anyone. As I said, that’s why Trump is done with the stupid cease fire breaking games of Z.

Agreeing to a cease fire and then doing nothing to disengage from the war is worse than not agreeing at all.
The Z Man can go pound sand. Or another piano. His choice.
It was Ukraine that reneged on the Minsk Accords for that reason.

President Trump on Friday was adamant he was not being “played” in talks to end the war in Ukraine, after his “negotiators” made it plain that whatever Vlad wants he will get, & the only thing standing in the way of peace is Ukraine, which started the whole thing by failing to immediately surrender on February 24, 2022.
Wrong! Putin never agreed to the cease fire. He placed a number of conditions on it before he would agree to it. Thus there was no agreed cease fire and thus Ukraine cannot be accused of breaking what did not exist.
More Russian projecting. Ukraine passed the law granting Donbas autonomy and was preparing for the required referendum. It was Russia that violated the accords by not withdrawing its forces, by not handing over the border to Ukraine, and by blocking the referendum that Ukraine was preparing. But none of this will stop Russian propagandists from lying about it.
