Disturbing security footage shows the moment a Uber driver was murdered as the gunmen appeared to have been targeting his passenger outside a Philadelphia hookah lounge.
Olatunji W. Bolaji, 77, was seen picking up a 22-year-old passenger in his black Chevy Suburban in downtown Philadelphia outside the Byblos Hookah Bar on Wednesday at around 2 a.m. — moments before the deadly shooting, according to video obtained by NBC10.
The unidentified fare hugged a woman outside Bolaji’s car as two men jumped out of a Jeep Grand Cherokee with Massachusetts plates, police said.
The woman is seen fleeing for safety when she notices the suspects rushing towards them with their guns pointed at the passenger.
The rider then jumps into the SUV as the men surround him from the front and the back of the vehicle.
One of the suspects is then seen pointing his gun into the vehicle and firing, hitting Bolaji in the head and the passenger in the arm, leg and abdomen, police told the outlet.
Despite being shot in the head, Bolaji managed to drive away but ended up crashing into a light pole a block away.
He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Sucks having to drive an Uber at age 77, when he could have been retired and surrounded by grandchildren in Nigeria.
I drive for Uber, mostly for fun money. They have a very strict “no weapons” policy for both drivers and passengers.
I, however, have my own policy. And that policy is that I am going home when I’m done.
Concealed means just that.

Rational.
As an Uber driver, do you have the power to refuse service to people who are statistically likely to kill you?
“ As an Uber driver, do you have the power to refuse service to people who are statistically likely to kill you?”
Indeed I do. And I use it. But I don’t drive in the city anymore. I stick to the western suburbs. On a good night I can bring in $200 or so. Pays for my ammo budget.

“Concealed means just that.” Yes, it does.
So, do you search your fares? I carry everywhere even in Ubers.
Filthy damn savages. All of them are democrats. /spit
Notice the murder stats for Philly. DemocRats encourage this kind of behavior. If people who don’t like violent crime move out of the city, guess who the majority voters are.
I don’t search them and they don’t search me.
Seems fair enough to me.

I suspect in this case, you would not have had time to draw your weapon or be able to shoot at the perp who was in front of the car.

He was not killed by the passenger, but rather by outside actors who did not care about collateral damage.
So many many Red Flags.
Possibly. But better a slim chance than no chance at all.
