Today's audiences are too uptight about almost everything to enjoy a good laugh. A couple of days ago, I saw a T-shirt that said:

Jesus Christ's name was going to be Fred, until Mary stubbed her toe.

The person I was with said the man who was wearing the shirt should be put in jail. I don't know...I look around and see things that tell me God has a sense of humor.

Benny Hill was funny. Woke BS and the inability to laugh at life’s foiables drains humor out of society. Bring it back 24/7 to help people see that laughter is often the “best medicine”. Society needs to have a sense of humor about everything in order to remain sane.

So-called progressives thrive in anger and negativity. Their perspective is destructive of civil society and a generally good time.

Attitudes like the ones this DM writer brought to the article are why I bought a Blazing Saddles DVD. I figure eventually it will go down the memory hold of Leftist cancellation.

I like Ben Elton’s work but he’s a big reason Benny Hill got canned. I can watch Benny Hill clips on YouTube and I still get a laugh out of them so they mostly hold up today

Coming from the UK that just did this...

🚨BREAKING🚨 Gab, social media has been blocked in the UK. But Two Tier Kier promises there is still freedom of speech.

It's a two-fer for the UK's Deep State since Gab's founder is a devout Christian.

Benny Hill. Stone genius. He would have these songs that went on for 20 minutes with very tight, funny verses. Don’t know if he wrote them or not. But the quantity of funny stuff he put out was amazing.

Ask some simp named Pradeep about 70s British humour and get the results expected. Pradeep is wanting no more humour. Only dancing of the whole village is needful enetertainment.

This newly emerged "sensitivity" is a glaring symptom of a spoiled and pampered generation. They've never known real hardship and know nothing about working their way through obstacles. Mommy and daddy have always done it for them.

That is contemporary Western Civilization.

And when the Morlocks come knocking (and, make no mistake, they are going to come), we're going to be totally unprepared.

Today’s standards LOL whining wimps living in a phony pretend world with zero ideas of reality while the sane go on living in reality.

Benny Hill if alive today would have endless material with all the liberal loony ideas they pimp.

The problem with comedy is that comedy exposes invariable truths to human existence. Comedy can’t be mean, either, just like impressionists have to like the people they do an impression of - Shane Gillis’ Trump impression is hilarious, while Alec Baldwin’s is passe’.

I love Benny Hill and am really sad that most British comedy before 2000 is now unknown because it’s censored. You couldn’t do the German episode of Fawlty Towers or the WWI gay pilot sketch (or pretty much anything) from Monty Python today. Let alone the Young Ones.

They Said It Could Not Be Done
(A Poem by Benny Hill)

They said that it could not be done
He said “Just let me try.”

They said, “Other men have tried and failed,”
And he answered, “But not I.”

They said, “It is impossible,”
He said, “There is no such word.”

He closed his mind, he closed his heart
To everything he heard.

He said, “Within the heart of man, there is a tiny seed.
It grows until it blossoms, it’s called “The Will to Succeed.”
Its roots are strength, its stem is hope, its petals inspiration,
Its thorns protect its strong green leaves, with grim determination.

Its stamens are its skills which help to shape each plan,
For there’s nothing in the universe beyond the scope of man.

They thought that it could not be done
Some even said they knew it,

But he faced up to what could not be done

......And he couldn’t bloody do it!

Someday someone will sit me down and explain British humor to me.

I find it painful to sit through.

I love their old dramas.

Also Canadian humor?

Second City TV?

Nooooooooo!

Dad introduced us to British humour, including Benny Hill, the Carry On movies, Alec Guinness, etc.
