We'll see.
I taught in urban Jackson, Mississippi and had many of the same comments tossed at me “it might be harder for you to teach as you ain’t in they culture” I was told.
Did you ax her to put that in writing?
They are the product of liberal attempts to chain them to their skin colour.
I taught for many years at an urban public high school. At one staff meeting, a black supervisor told us that black student failures were the result of racist white teachers.
And we white teachers should apologize to our black students.
Did I apologize? Of course not. But I did accelerate my research into early retirement.
A close friend used to advise me when I got intensely angry at guilty opponents:
"Remember, don't get mad, get even."
That unfortunate woman undoubtedly internalized a lot of hurt due to the lack of freedom for white people to express themselves in this country. That stress can cause hives, headaches, worsening pre-diabetes, high blood pressure, cancer, heart trouble and stroke.
The past 3-4 months have brought back a lot of freedom that was denied by doxxing, canceling and DEI overseers taking away professional credentials and people's job opportunities after being branded by a name of "racist."
This happens a great deal.
If not fluent in Ebonics, Jive or any other recognized communication norms within the ‘culture set’ - I can see where the school wants to boot her for a DEI pick.
I would be a shame to see her leave though.
America does not have a race problem
It has a problem race.
Sounds like fraud.
Exactly.
And while I do not doubt the fact of her being harassed I would say it probably was less to do with her skin shade and more to do with her pointing out this "possible" fraud.
While as a general rule the state looks the other way while whistling a merry tune there are times when they decide to actually do their job and investigate. If even a couple of parents had put some pressure on the system because their child is being warehoused rather then taught this becomes more likely.
In that case they would have been desperate to get rid of her.
I hope she has some of that on tape.
The staff leadership appears to be mostly black with a few Hispanics thrown in. No whites at all. What happened to diversity?
That's what "diversity" is. No whites. Some White people think "diversity" means a variety of races, including whites. No. It means no whites. A 100% Hispanic school is considered diverse. A 100% white school isn't.
My old high school was 2% latino, 3 black students, a handful of asian and the balance white when I attended. Today, the demographics are different.
Name | Total | African American | American Indian or Alaska Native | Asian | Filipino | Hispanic or Latino | Pacific Islander | White | Two or More Races | Not Reported |
---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
Hilltop Senior High | 1,841 | 1.9% | 0.6% | 1.2% | 1.7% | 77.0% | 0.2% | 14.9% | 2.3% | 0.3% |
The school "report card" is here and here
Suffice to say, the school is no longer the top of academic achievement. Disappointing. I taught at Southwestern College from 1980 to 1983. I enjoyed my classes. My students covered the full range of diversity in age, race, sex and ethnicity.
Sadly, I think you are spot on.
>> stress-induced stroke
after allegedly being harassed and forced to resign — which is a different matter than having a stroke
guessing her personal health was the primary contributing factor to the “stress-induced” stroke
