In the heart of downtown Atlanta, several people witnessed the unthinkable over the weekend.
A dead horse was seen lying on the sidewalk in front of Unity National Bank at Peachtree Street and MLK Jr. Drive.
Jon Birdsong owns the building where the bank is located and reported the incident.
“We called Department of Agriculture, firefighters, police officers and animal control,” Birdsong said.
Authorities responded to the scene and placed a white tarp over the horse.
“They were trying to feed it and do everything they could to give it water,” Birdsong said.
Officers said the horse’s owner reported that the animal suffered a “possible medical emergency” and collapsed on the sidewalk.
“A horse passed away around 12:48 a.m. on Sunday morning due to natural causes,” Birdsong said.
Birdsong said the horse was privately owned and did not belong to a carriage company. As for why the owner was riding the horse downtown, it’s unclear.

Taking an unacclimated horse into the middle of the city like that.

At the price of gas I can understand someone choosing a mode of transport that is powered by grass and can get around Atlanta gridlock.

Actually, as far I know along with Bicycles it is an unrestricted form “non-motorized” travel everywhere in the country. Walking, Bicycles, and Horse/Mules are unrestricted forms of travel because they are not “Motorized”.

Leftist Atlanta will prosecute the owner for methane emissions.

What questions?
someone was riding the horse and it had an emergency and it died.
What more do they want?
Does everything have to be complicated?

Wait, didn’t this happen in The Walking Dead? Was there a tank nearby? Was there one or two hundred zombies walking around?

If Stacy Abrams was at the scene, did anyone ask? Perhaps the horse was riding her.

They authorities and the news media are not asking the most important questions. Was the horse black, white, brown, or yellow? Were drugs or gun play or police misconduct involved? And how are Trump's tariffs or DOGE to blame?

This used to be a fad in Dublin, Ireland maybe thirty years ago. People would keep horses in sheds and ride them around town.

My neigh-bor lost two horses due to a downed electrical wire that started a fire in the road. The poor horses ran from the barn to the paddock when the fire dept showed up with lights and sirens blaring Unfortunately the ground was electrified due to it being wet and both horses were fried. Very sad.
