This case may get very complicated. The kid said the other boy put his hands on him, and witnesses are saying that happened. However, the boy who did the stabbing brought a knife with him and intentionally sat in the wrong place. He may have been looking for trouble.
Sounds like planned just like the Virginia baton thug track runner.
Well, did the kid have a "reasonable belief that the use of deadly force was necessary to prevent imminent death or serious bodily injury".
Not by any standard. But, of course, he has other arguments.
Back when I took ccl class they taught in Texas you are not allowed to engage in an altercation and then escalate it to deadly force. Victims actions might be the difference between murder and a lesser charge but given the depravity shown by the killer, and the county in which this will be tried, I doubt the killer will get much leniency.
