The teenager accused of fatally stabbing Austin Metcalf and leaving him to die in his twin brother’s arms at a high school track meet allegedly admitted to the senseless killing — but claimed it was in self defense.
“I’m not alleged, I did it,” 17-year-old Karmelo Anthony chillingly told police in Frisco, Texas as he was being arrested at Kuykendall Stadium, according to an arrest warrant obtained by NBC DFW.
The horrific stabbing was sparked when Anthony, who was sitting under another team’s pop up tent as it rained Wednesday morning, was asked by Metcalf to move — and Anthony refused, according to the arrest report.
Anthony then unzipped a bag, reached inside and told Metcalf, who he’d never met before, “Touch me and see what happens,” a witness told police, according to the document.

Wait. Where do you get this "assaulted" word from the actions that have been described?
Yes, I know the legal @$$holes describe "assault" as any "unwanted touching", but rational people know what the word "assault" means, and just putting your hand on someone's arm does not constitute "assault."
Also relevant is whether there was an opportunity to retreat from the assault.
You mean like just leave, as he was asked to do? Well yeah, he could have just left.
His life would have been better off had he just left.
I do not yet have an accurate grasp of what exactly transpired, but what word I have received on the matter paints the stabber as an obnoxious piece of sh*t just trying to start something.
From what I think I know, the stabber needs to be put to death.
“”From what I think I know, the stabber needs to be put to death.””
I totally agree. This incident was intentional and premeditated. Since the family is obviously Christian (the father has already forgiven his son’s murderer)... I have to wonder if there is, perhaps, a spiritual factor involved.
From Google:
In the terminology of law, an assault is the act of causing physical harm or unwanted physical contact to another person, or, in some legal definitions, the threat or attempt to do so. It is both a crime and a tort and, therefore, may result in criminal prosecution, civil liability, or both.
Also, from Google:
In law, battery is generally defined as the intentional and unlawful application of force to another person, resulting in harmful or offensive contact, without their consent.
The point is that "assault" does not require contact. Furthermore, "putting your hand on someone's arm" certainly could constitute an "assault". A jury would decide based on intentions, perceptions, and the context of the incident.
Texas has executed plenty for crimes committed at 17, so it’s possible.
That said, this is probably a second degree murder case, as it does not appear pre-meditated (reasonable minds can differ here, but I’m just stating the facts). Premeditation is lying-in-wait, hiring a hitman, being a hitman, poisoning, etc. Planning, in other words.
