Texas high school football star Austin Metcalf stabbed in the heart, left to die in twin brother’s arms at track meet: dad
A Texas high school star athlete was stabbed in the heart and left to die in his loving twin brother’s arms following a fight over a seat at a track meet, the boy’s heartbroken father said.
Austin Metcalf was attending a track and field championship between other area schools at Kuykendall Stadium in Frisco, Texas when the fatal attack happened on April 2.
Metcalf, a junior at Frisco ISD’s Memorial High School, was in the stands of the stadium when a confrontation broke out between the teen and 17-year-old Karmelo Anthony.
Anthony, a senior at Centennial High School, was allegedly told he was sitting in the wrong seat when he drew a knife and launched his attack, Metcalf’s father Jeff Metcalf told NBC Dallas-Fort Worth.
Anthony, 17, allegedly stabbed Metcalf in the chest as his victim’s brother, Hunter, watched in horror.

My daughter works for this school district in a high school in Frisco.
She showed me a picture of the killer. In his social media he’s giving the camera the middle finger.
He brought a knife to a track meet. He killed a good kid from a good family. And the dead teen wasn’t bullying anyone. Nowhere is that stated in any article. Ive told people they are in the wrong seat before......on an airplane, etc.
This killer was a teen thug, a wanna be tough guy who destroyed 2 lives. The kid from a good family and his own. He will spend the rest of his miserable life in prison. Unimagineable, unthinkable despair for many years to come of what might have been. He sits now rotting in the city jail, then the county jail, then prison where it’s hell.
All because he wanted to be a tough guy.

Storm - you’re wrong. Even if the victim was the aggressor - a knife is a deadly weapon and should only be used if you are faced with deadly force. Clearly Carmelo overreacted, and is wrong in his use of deadly force against the victim.
The real problem is societies efforts at denying the natural aggressiveness of young men. We make all forms of aggression (even positive aggression) bad. We deny the effects of testosterone in its drive in boys and young men for aggressiveness.
We used to have controlled outlets for this aggression in schools with boxing programs, and other sports outlets. Now we only have a zero tolerance policy for any form of aggression. This suppression in society will ALWAYS result in one of two outcomes.
Either the aggressiveness is repressed until the point of overactive aggression (like this instance), or repressed and internalized until self destruction.
Bring back ways for boys and young men to learn how to manage their aggression and you will have healthier outcomes with less violence.

Maybe he was in the wrong seat. Maybe the victim was holding the stub with that seat number. I have had to produce a valid stub before to prove I was in the right seat. No sympathy for the little schmuck who is now going straight from high school to prison, probably for the rest of his miserable life. What could have possibly been the backstory of this? Was this the culmination of a years long rivalry between the two? If it was a sudden impulse, as I suspect, then the maximum penalty must be imposed. The kid is a danger to society.
He will be paroled from prison at some point and then WILL be a tough guy. Lock him away for life. There is no cure for him.
