More than 200 people aboard a still-at-sea Cunard Line cruise bound for New York, including members of the crew, contracted norovirus in the latest cruise ship outbreak of the nasty stomach bug.
Of the 2,538 guests on Cunard’s Queen Mary 2, 224 reported getting ill on the current voyage along with 17 crew members, this month, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
The cruise departed from Southampton, England on March 8 to set out for New York and later the Caribbean. The entire journey, however, doesn’t conclude until April 6, leaving the rest of the guests stuck at sea as the viral infection sweeps through the ship.

Well, my mother did have a few “Canucks” for friends, but for the most part, she thought most French Canadiens were crude. Some of them had such bad accents she could hardly understand them, their French was terrible. She likened it to someone from Maine speaking with someone from the Ozarks.
Yes, she was from Normandy. A lot of history in her family.
Bordette/Bourdette..
That was supposed to be my ancestors spellings.
In England it was Burdet, then got changed to Burdick, which it is now here.
They were Barons. People think of Barons as wealthy nobility. Fact is, all a lot of them were simple freehold landowners owning small parcels of land and a few acres of farmland.
Thats why in 17th century a lot were forced out of England to here. The pie is only so large and the pieces got so small somebody had to go.
My mother’s maiden name was Fere. Robert Fere had a plumbing business and was also the Chief of the fire dept in their town. He was in the French Underground or Resistance and helped to derail a German train loaded with loot. A skirmish ensued and Robert took a bullet just above his heart, passed right through. He survived but died just after I was born in 1950. The Germans were running out of lead, so they were using wooden bullets with a little lead inside. Not accurate, but deadly at close range, the wood would shatter if it hit bone. Fortunately they killed all of the Germans and recovered the stolen loot.
So, what it’s a risk you take on these trips. I did not read it all, but I suspect no one died and many thousands have improved their self-immunity.
BTW my specialty is in infectious disease, so if anyone has any questions about said issues message me and I will get back to you as soon as I can.
As a declaimer in about 2 weeks into Covid 19 I realized it was a political virus that caused harm on most of the planet, mass hysteria of leaders of Billions of people. The most harmed were our youth in the USA that lost almost 2 years of education and those that died prematurely. Goggle influenza and covid cases at the same time. There were 95% of flu cases that fell of and claimed as CV. BTW this flu season, 2024-2025 has killed more people than this entire
CV bs. Do not belive me I can provide links and studies.
