The story of ‘Snow White’ is public domain. Disney’s original film masterpiece is under copyright until 2030-something. I think they made this remake because they thought it would be a cheap and easy money-getter.

I remember the Hansel and Gretel movie back in 1954. A very fun movie for us kids. Have not seen it since then.
A few years later when we got TV, the NETWORK did a horrid live action version of the story. And I do mean HORRID!

Yes the STORY is public domain. The Disney LOOK of Snow White, and the dwarves, and the witch, and the cottage... are not. And that’s where the money is at, just look up Snow White merch. 2030 isn’t far away, especially when you look at how long it took them to make this movie.

Disney held it back for two years and then tried to release it quietly and in out of the way places. Too late! The die had already been cast about this turkey, especially the DEI “magical beings” replacing the classic dwarves.

Too bad, many little people were furious when Peter Dinklage spoke out about “dwarves not being exploited for entertainment” which apparently was part of the decision to use DEI “beings” - this unfortunately cut out little people who make their living in the well-paying entertainment industry - a business where hypocrite Peter Dinklege makes a very handsome living specifically as a “little person” (Game of Thrones, Elf).

Kids and I will stick to classic Disney, including the original “Snow White.”
