Syrian leader Ahmed al-Sharaa has formally requested that Russian President Vladimir Putin extradite Syrian ex-president Bashar al-Assad, who is currently in Russia, to Damascus for trial.
On March 20, it was revealed that Putin had sent a message to al-Sharaa, offering his support for efforts to quickly stabilise the situation in Syria, which has seen growing clashes between fighters loyal to the new government and Alawites who continue supporting Assad, Caliber.Az reports via Russian media.
The Kremlin's statement regarding the message emphasised Russia’s commitment to strengthening its traditionally friendly relations with Syria.
"The message confirmed Russia's unwavering readiness to develop practical cooperation with the leadership of Syria on a wide range of bilateral issues, aimed at strengthening the traditionally friendly Russia-Syria relations," the statement read.

I’m guessing Putin will tell them where to stick it.
“I’m guessing Putin will tell them where to stick it.”
Me too. If Putin sends it back, it will be to run the country and execute the present leader who seems to be really into the genocide of Christians.
(ignore this comment, Zeepers, as I doubt you can understand it)
Someone should extradite z to the US to faces charges of fraud and theft and graft.
Funny how “Christian” Putin only pals around with muslims and atheists.
Did he remember to also tell Putin, or else?
Someone should ask Putin why he only pals around with muslims and atheists.
Fat chance! He will likely take military action against them!
Your new retort is clever enough, that you've used it twice just now.
Given the various discussions going on in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, involve Russian and American delegations, maybe lots of us are pals with Muslims and atheists -- like some of those jolly atheists atop the European Union. By the way, you do know that Altiero Spinelli was among the founders of the EU, don't you? Remember Greece's Alexis Tsipras? Remember that fine atheist, Francois Hollande? You do know that Olaf Scholz is an atheist, don't you? And Spain's Pedro Sánchez. You probably don't know that your Keir Starmer is an atheist. Ah well. The list is longer than your assertion, to be sure.
It is indeed "funny," as you say.
Iran, Syria, China, North Korea. Putin’s muslims and atheists.
“The murdering Syrian scum demands that The Putin extradite other murdering scum.”
Where’s Kadyrov? Putin’s favorite Chechen muslim has been missing for 3 months.

Looks like your two go-to "news" orgs are betraying you on The Ukraine, marcus.
First Rrhoiders, then Daxid Axe at Forbes.
Is Das Bruggie at WeakNews far behind?
Got it! As opposed to our "muslims and atheists." I can see how confusing this can be.
Sorry, but I think President Trump's willingness to engage in diplomacy and meet with competitors far and away "trumps" your strategy here on a Free Republic forum.
I look forward to a time when many conflicts can be defused by President Trump and Vice President Vance, and this administration's team, and more pictures of diplomatic handshakes towards some sense of calm in the world can be the order of the day.
Putin’s atheists standing up for Putin’s muslims.
North Korea said it wants the United States to stop its “indiscriminate use of force” as a new wave of U.S. airstrikes hit the Houthi militia group backed by Iran.

I get a kick out of how everyone “demands” things from Putin.
How has that worked out so far?
Your notion of the possessive form in language is most amusing.
"Putin's atheists?" How about our atheists? Europe's atheists? How about Europe's Muslims -- much courtesy of the destruction of one kind of Muslim Libya for another kind of Muslim Libya courtesy of an American President, Obama?
Using your language habit, how about Trump's Muslims? Or Trump's atheists? Are you "standing up" for Trump's atheists? Or are you "standing up" for Trump's Muslims?
Your penchant for simplicity in constructing fumbling responses suggests a simple world view, which thankfully President Trump and his hard-working, diplomatic administration do not reflect.
