Honestly, with all the brain issues from hits, he had a pretty good run to 76. RIP George, I still use your grill every so often

It has been estimated by boxing experts that he was one of the hardest punchers in boxing history.

He only lost 5 fights out of his 81 professional fights, with 76 wins and 68 knockouts. His only loss by knockout was against Muhammad Ali ( who did his now well-known rope-a-dope on George ) in the rumble-in-the-jungle. The rest, he lost by close decisions. He also made boxing history by becoming the oldest heavyweight champion by defeating Michael Moorer ( George was 45 ).

I never expected him to be rich and successful after his boxing career was over, but he surprised me.

Fun fact: Foreman has a total of 12 children—five sons and seven daughters. Interestingly, all of his sons share the same name: George.

To avoid confusion, each son has a unique nickname, such as George Jr., George III (”Monk”), George IV (”Big Wheel”), George V (”Red”), and George VI (”Little Joey”).

RIP. You had a wonderful life.

If you never have seen ‘When We Were Kings” which documents this fight and the time that they spent in Zaire before and after the fight, it is well worth seeing. It naturally is far more about Ali than Foreman but well worth the time....
