It’s not just impeachments. Republicans are eyeing other ways to rein in federal judges.

House Republicans don’t have the votes to impeach any federal judges. But a growing number of hard-liners is discussing several other legislative options as GOP leaders search for a release valve for the MAGA fury building over recent court rulings checking President Donald Trump.

Top Republicans are likely to put at least one bill, California Rep. Darrell Issa’s “No Rogue Rulings Act,” on the floor in early April, according to two people granted anonymity to discuss scheduling plans. The legislation would crack down on the ability of lower-court judges to issue far-reaching injunctions.

That is seen by Speaker Mike Johnson and other House Republican leaders as a viable outlet as they sort out the way forward on the judicial impeachments that have been endorsed by Trump and his billionaire ally Elon Musk. A spokesperson for Johnson said the speaker and the Judiciary Committee are reviewing “all available options … to address this urgent matter.”

House Republicans have filed impeachment resolutions targeting four district judges, including one this week targeting the jurist who sought to block Trump’s effort to deport alleged gang members to El Salvador. Trump publicly backed the impeachment push, and Musk quickly fanned the flames on X, his social-media platform, calling the deportations ruling part of a “judicial coup.”

But there is widespread recognition inside the House GOP that impeachments — besides being costly in time and political capital — do not have the votes to succeed given Republicans’ narrow majority. That has prompted GOP hard-liners to back-channel with Trump allies on alternatives they could push across the House floor.

“Activist judges, particularly in D.C., think that they are the Trump resistance — the Trump political resistance,” said Mike Davis, a close Trump ally who runs an outside judicial advocacy group. “What they are doing is lawless and...

There are all sorts of things Congress can do. They can create or dissolve federal districts if they wish. They can remove the federal courts jurisdiction over certain areas if they wish. They can impeach and remove federal judges not just for crimes but for anything they don't consider to be "good behavior".

Beyond the above, they can't cut a judge's salary but they can remove all funding for a judge's clerks for example. They can remove all federal marshals from courthouses (why does the judiciary have ANY enforcement power at all? Its not supposed to). They can disallow a judge's expenses. There are LOTS of ways Congress can punish even individual judges if they wish. The Republicans need to single out activist leftists on the federal bench and do a lot of the above. Stick these provisions into the federal budget. Then they can pass it through the Senate with a simple majority vote via Reconciliation - ie no need to worry about the filibuster.

This farce has gone on long enough. District judges were never meant to control the workings of federal executive branch. That’s why we elect a president.

If such a “judge” orders his political adversary to commit suicide, would that person comply? Or would the judge be laughed off the bench? The Trump administration should be treating such judges with the respect they deserve — none.

Ignore crazy edicts from activist judges. They have no way to enforce their political whims.

Maybe Republican states should resume bussing illegals to the neighborhoods where these judges live.

Impeachment is Stupid

Passing some GOP Ball-Less Bill is Stupid.

Defund the Federal courts. Defund their security details. Bar these judges from entry into ALL Federal Buildings.

In other words Throw their Black Robed Asses Out on the sidewalk and LOCK THE DOOR behind them.

All they to do is one thing right now: No National injunctions.

Disgusting, immoral, about as low as you can get. These judges are all power hungry tools of the left. They do not care about any law that benefits the people. What kind of human being wants a bunch of Central and South America gangbangers in their country? They are as bad as the gangbangers themselves.

Sic the IRS on them.
Tucker Carlson interviewed Doug Macgregor.
At the 39:00 mark, Macgregor says that the Mexican cartels own our politicians.
https://www.facebook.com/watch/?v=641698908609787&ref=sharing
We know that the global oligarchs own many of our politicians.
There are term limits on our president.
There should be term limits on our judges and all other politicians, not the Supreme Court justices.
This is the case of judges we didn’t elect protecting the deep state we didn’t elect.

Don’t follow any of their supposed rulings/orders. They;re illegal to begin with and they have no jurisdiction trying to implementing them.

Uh, no.

Uh Yes. You don't know what you're talking about.

Article III Section 1 The judicial Power of the United States, shall be vested in one supreme Court, and in such inferior Courts as the Congress may from time to time ordain and establish. The Judges, both of the supreme and inferior Courts, shall hold their Offices during good Behaviour, and shall, at stated Times, receive for their Services, a Compensation, which shall not be diminished during their Continuance in Office.

Trump has 3.5 years.

Tom Kratman, in a book called Caliphate, described one method the US used to “get its house in order”.

It probably wouldn’t take but a few heinous crimes and immediate presidential pardon for the message to be heard.

Some journalists and Soros AG’s could use some similar messaging, I think.

Uh - you're reading into the Good Behavior Clause what you want it to mean.

There's been competing schools of thought of what the Good Behavior Clause means. Some (like you) see it as a way to potentially remove judge for //whatever criteria is decided on by Congress//. Some see it as a re-iteration that judges can be removed via Impeachment and Conviction.

When I wrote "Uh, no" it was to your claim that:

"They can impeach and remove federal judges not just for crimes but for anything they don't consider to be "good behavior"."

and to that I say - you don't know what you're talking about.

Judges can only be impeached and removed via conviction for "High Crimes and Misdemeanors". That's it.

Trying to read into the Good Behavior Clause is (my prediction) going nowhere. The better strategy (although I predict it will not work due to the current dysfunction in the House) is claiming that a Judges is committing acts that are an abuse of power.

Dissolve the Lower courts. Remake it with 50 , one for each state. Ever state sets its own rules for its own court. Decisions only effect the state they are in and anything else automatically on hold until the Supreme Court decides, if ever.

Brush up on yours. "The Judges, both of the supreme and inferior Courts, shall hold their Offices during good Behaviour."

Says right there in old fashioned ink on parchment "good behavior."

I can look up some American Civics courses for you to take.

“good Behaviour” can refer to either1) a reiteration of judges can only be removed for high crimes and misdemeanors or 2) it could possibly refer to another avenue of removal (ostensibly decided by Congress)

Claim by some that it’s the latter is just that - a claim. Know the difference.
