Deputies have been investigating at least four incidents of drivers either hitting or swerving to miss large objects left on Highway 36 at night — from a coffee table to a chair, and even a kid’s bicycle.
In one instance, a young married couple escaped with their lives after dodging what they thought was a television in the middle of Highway 36 on a dark night in December. Their car crashed through a wire guardrail and slid into a ravine.
They told First Alert 6 that they saw a man standing on the shoulder right after the crash. Sheriff Aaron Hanson alleges that was Rademacker who intentionally placed the object in the highway.
”And resulted in him being able to see first responders responding and him being able to respond as a helper. But worst-case scenario could have resulted in someone’s serious injury or death," Hanson said

If it was an animal they would have just hit it.

BENNINGTON, Neb.
Used to this every day on LA freeways - mattresses, spilled loads of citrus, oil tanker spills - from un-inspected, 3rd world trucking, which is common here.
I left a 50s era console TV on the freight train tracks 45 years ago. Took 3 of us to carry it. Pretty cool smash from the 60 mph plus train.
Unsecured load. I see it all the time. Had to doge a V8 engine in the middle of my lane with my motorcycle on the 101 one time.
Officers have dropped the ball on this one. They just do not enforce it like they used to so it is becoming a real problem.
No one is securing their loads anymore... I see it all day long every time I go somewhere.
“Used to this every day on LA freeways.”
Yes, the 101 back in the early 80s was the worst for that. As you know all those concrete sections with expansion joints became ramps that would send you off the ground... A motorcycle became a bucking Bronco on the 101...
sheesh- he tries to help people improve their reflexes, and this is the thanks he gets?
I’d hate to be on the jury. The accused looks just like the sort of dopehead who would do this. Don’t need no stinkin’ evidence.
Days after First Alert 6 ran a follow-up story talking with crash victims, someone called into the newsroom pretending to be one of them — and asked to have the story taken down from FirstAlert6.com.
His lawyer will claim low IQ and he’ll get off with a slap on the wrist.
